Jet Wars v1.0 by Are§/[FC]Fate

This is a side modification for the GCW era. It contains all new units for imp and reb factions, each a different kind of jet (hence the name). Each unit yields 5 weapons (with the exception of the Aquos Breed), some familiar some customs, all fun to play with. It even includes some custom reticules made specifically for the new weapons (but I left the main ones as they were, such as sniper, so that your custom rets will still show up for those). Each unit being a jet allows for a new type of game play that is very enjoyable and has never been seen before. Please download and enjoy!

Back Story: Towards the end of the Galactic Civil War, there were a number of encounters between these elite jet forces that each side had meticulously recruited and compiled to be the optimal warring factions. Each unit is dangerous in it's own way, depending on the background from which it comes. Surviving Jet Troopers from the Clone Wars times have divided themselves into clans, each fighting for a different cause. Further mutations of the Dark Trooper have led to many new breeds, some even that the Empire could no longer control.

Factions: [spoiler]*Rebel Jet Factions*

- "AmeriClan Jet" - patriotic warriors bred directly from genuine American DNA

- "Guardian Breed" - results of Dark Trooper mutations that went wrong, for the Empire... Sworn to protect all that is right and just

- "Enron Clan Jet" - fights to protect and preserve the natural environments of planets from the destructive, war-bent Empire

- "Emberos Breed" - rebellious Aquos Breed, it's hate burns with a lust for vengence against the deceitful Empire

- "Bryant Clan Jet" - valiant fighters for good... extremely well trained and athletic, some say they are a little full of themselves however

            *Imperial Jet Factions*

- "Aquos Breed" - standard new-age Dark Trooper, serves the Empire dutifully

- "Zahada Clan Jet" - mysterious mercenaries hired by the empire to carry out it's will in battle

- "Destroyer Breed" - pure evil mutations of the Aquos Breed

- "Hegemon Clan Jet" - fallen members of AmeriCLan, lured to the Empire by promises of supreme power and authority

- "Death Breed" - rumored to have been created by the Devil himself, carries out Imperial orders ruthlessly

Tips and Tricks: [spoiler]- if you let the bow blaster charge it will shoot 3 vertically aligned shots
- each of the clone jet models have no initial fuel cost... if you are ever in a squeeze for fuel, try pressing space bar repeatedly
- I would stay away from maps with cliffs, as many ai jets seem to have the confidence to hover over them until there fuel runs out... 
- The skins and mods DO apply to snowy and forest maps as well
- I find it is also very fun to only put one of the modded jet side.lvl's in and dominate the stock side
- Each unit has 5 weapons (3 primary and 2 secondary), so don't forget about the other secondary weapons even though it doesn't show up in the spawn display
- If you are experiencing any lag in single player, one thing you can do is go to the pause menu> Options > Video Options > and hit Auto Detect at the bottom of the screen. Should help balance out all the effects.
- I would not recommend playing this mod on Endor, gets pretty laggy there, for me at least (my computer isn't the best)
- One map that I found very enjoyable to play with this is Rhen Var : Harbor[/spoiler]

Hey, today I am trying to make a rifle that shoots its one shot only when you charge it up, not before though. So far i have been able to apply the charge to it, but I'm not sure how to make it so that it won't let you shoot until it is fully charged. Can anyone help me with this?

So I don't know if it was supposed to be like that or not, but is there anyway that I can make it smaller (I'm guessing it is possible by hex editing). It is Sereja's rt97c gun model, and i'd really like to you it in my current project, but it is obviously not suitable for use right now. Any help is appreciated!

and im not talkin about stock msh's from swbf2, i mean some of the cool weapon msh's that you can find on gametoast. This might be a stupid question, but hey i've never had to deal with weapon msh's before (its something new im trying from my current project). Also, what then would i do for odf? would i have to make one from scratch? make a copy of an existing swbf1 odf and mod it? Any help for converting these files would be great, because it seems like a lot of cool weapons were released for swbf2 on that site, and a lesser number of cool ones for swbf1 (except for sereja's, those are great  ;))

I have been looking for a certain kind of skins/unit models for my next project. Does anyone know of skins/models that look  like simple people/warriors/vikings/ancient towns people? Something like that. I'm envisioning ancient Greek common people, if you get the picture. Any help is appreciated

This mod is a side mod for the GCW era. All factions have same weapons and teams have all the same units, but every weapon and most unit skins have been modified. *Skins and ODF changes do not include "snowy" planets*

This mod is online compatible as long as the server host and all players have the side mod in. If enough people like this mod, I'm sure we could have Phobos or Led host a server using this mod so we could play online (which would probably be even more fun than single player). Please post feedback (positive or negative) on the SWBFgamers forum here, as this is my first full side mod, so i'd like to know what you all think.

Requests / HELP: Changing Unit and Weapon Names

I may be stupid for this.. But I just need some clarification on the process of how you change Unit and Weapon names (as they show up on the spawn screen). Either an explanation of a link to a tutorial would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I kindly ask members to read and consider this.

The increasing hostility of members of this community towards the clan of FC is really quite atrocious to me. With the dwindling number of players active in the game, I see no place for this hostility to be taking place. It is true that we are a clan with some prolific modders, who take pride in being good at what they do, and by no means want to hurt the community with the mods that they make (actually quite the contrary). Though some people, not naming names, feel the need to call us out as cheaters or hackers for what we do; completely disregarding all of the contributions that we have made to the community, especially the ground breaking work of Phobos. 

All I'm trying to say here is that people need to stop looking at us as the "bad guys" of the SWBF community, and mature to the point where we can get along.

Requests / Help: Anyway around disk key?

With the disk-less install that I uploaded awhile ago, a lot of people are running into the issue of disk key, which is required to play online. All i want to know is if their are like random keys that people could put in and use, or another sort of "hack" with which you can get around using a disk key at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated  :tu:

this download is a .reg file that will trick your computer into thinking that swbf is installed on ur computer (as long as you already have or transferred your lucasarts folder on that computer). For example, this worked great for when i wanted to put swbf on my laptop, which has no disk drive. Simply compress your lucasarts folder, put on a flash drive, place into the new computers program files folder, and then run this .reg file. and obviously you will need a disk-less launcher, so i included that in the zip file as well if you dont already have it.

*you may have to enter the cdkey into the the new computer to play online, that's what i had to do, but the same one works for both computers for me as well, so no big deal.. as long as u still have your game manual

Hope this makes anyone who needs it happy!

hey, this is just a pack of some common tga's that i modded, having to do with menu buttons and spawn screen backgrounds (no crosshairs). Basically if you want your game to look alittle cooler, give it a download and read the README, there's another file i recommend modding.

*NOTE* this is not a munged common.lvl file, so if you are not familiar with munging or do not have a common.lvl builder you will not be able to do much with these.
