SWBF Player Participation Event to win the use of a Server for a Month

Hi SWBFgamers,

To increase forum participation, I would like to invite a wide group of people to participate in our next mod map DC night.  We have not done this before, so I will make the rules as clear as I can, but there may need to be some modifications along the way.

I will set up a mod map Direct Connection server, and clans or groups are asked to participate throughout the mod map time.   When your involvement in the mod map event is over, post a screen shot (if you can) and post in this thread to the clan or group that you belong to {*}.  The DC server will be hosted from my home, so that both Mac and PC players can participate.  Typical pings to my home server are 85-125 for US players, 150-180 for UK players, 250-300 for Australian and NZ players.

The time of the DC server will be set up to be long enough to accommodate European, North American, and Australian/New Zealand players (approximately 12-24 hours long).  No one is expected to play for the entire time--just as long as they find it enjoyable.

The clan or group (PLA is excluded) that has the most participants posting on the forum claiming to be in their group, will get the use of a professionally hosted NFO server instance just like PLA and SWBFgamers.com uses for a period of one month.  We can also give shorter term servers for second and third place.  You can have mod maps, standard maps, and a password protected server.  The title of the server can have your clan name and whatever else in it, subject to the rules of SWBFgamers.com on offensive language, and seen in your registration agreement.

The NFO server instance will be for PC's and may be on our East Coast, Midwest, or West Coast server depending on the most participants and server availability.  The server will be un-managed, meaning that I will set it up for you and can change maps when I can, but I will not be able to give you server passwords for booting and banning.  If a group of Macintosh users win, I can host a DC server from my house almost continuously during the month.

The rules of the DC mod map server will also conform to SWBFgamers.com rules on offensive language and game play, and violators will be removed from the server, forums, etc. at our option.

I made some edits to my post.  We can have the DC server up for a long time, like 3PM to Midnight US Eastern time to accommodate players in many time zones.  Just play and stay for as long as you find it enjoyable.   We want to you enjoy the mod maps, but we also want players to be aware and participate on the web site, so there is no need to play for a long time if you happen to lag to my home server

The serves a couple of purposes: 
1) it gets people to know how to play mod maps on a DC, and gets them there.
2) it gets people to know our website and register here.

Note that a group could be a clan, just a bunch of players that come together, or whatever.

If there is enough interest, I suppose we can make 2nd and 3rd place participation prizes be 3 and 2 weeks of a server.  What do you think?
