Just made this for ppl that need help with skinning :)

First you're going to need gimp. Also you will need:
SWBF1 Modding LVL Builders Toolbox 2.0.

First opoen up your gimp so you will have it ready. I

recoomend Gimp 2.6.10 so it will be easy for me to tell

you. So after you have your gimp open, open up the

toolbox. Click the 1.2 side builders for SWBF1. click

what Team you want to edit: ALL(reb),CIS,IMP, or REP.

Click Sides,then click that team you're editing,MSH,

Then fine a file that look's like this:all_1st_inf_wookie

(that is a rebel class)of a troop that is a TGA. file, drag the

file into the gimp box. Once you have that done You will

see alot of parts to the class including: arms, legs, chest.

Then with gimp use the paintbucket, pencil, or paintbrosh

to skin the troop. Once you have finished editing, go up

to file and click save as,click save, click replace,

and UNCLICK: RLE Compression. Then exit out of gimp and go

back in the side builders to you fine the screen that says

_BUILD_PC,_LVL_PC, and all that. Go down to munge ALL and

click that, wait for it to munge, then go into

_LVL_PC/(Youre team)/ and copy that file of which team

you picked. go into your file location for SWBF, click

gamedata,data,_LVL_PC,SIDE, and paste what team you

edited: CIS,REP,ALL,or IMP. paste it in there. Now you

should have your skin!

The Clones and Droids and few others share a death model and or chunks. The texture is the same for those that share the model. It is better if you make copies of the death model or chunks and give them the same texture you make for the troops you retexture. Also look for the low mesh models and make copies so that each unit has their own low mesh model and your new textures. This makes a side mod more cool. You will need to hex edit the models you copy to call for a different tga file. Find me in xfire keenmike.

For some reason i cant get the skins to save into the game.

are you doing the munge process?

are you generating new files with the current date?

Don't believe everything you read on the internet

Yeah, I know I munged them, and I'm pretty sure I did second thing to.

And you replaced put new imp.lvl cis.lvl rep.lvl or all.lvl file in the place of the old one?
and you tested it out on a unit that you know was modified?

you didnt rename files did you?
