Test Master Server up and Running

DarkPhantom and I have set up a test master server to begin testing and trials for additional Master Server features--leader boards, server lists, and what ever else we can think of and implement.

DP will do the coding and investigating.

One feature I would love to see working again is Direct Connection Servers.

I don't recall what the functionality of that was.  Can you described it?

During Gamespy, if you were buddies with another player, you had the option to "join their game" if you were in a different server or sitting in the menu + if buddies were on your team, the name above their character would be light/bright green instead of blue.

I see.  That is probably a bridge too far given that we only have about 10 players at a time using the MS across all platforms these days.

From what I could tell, the buddy system is not really implemented at all in the MS replacement.
Was it a console thing or just SWBF2 in general?  I didn't use BF2 very much.

I think it is available for PC Gamers too.
