SWBFSpy - NEW English Instructions

Hello, you wonderful battlefronter! Yes, you! No doubt you've heard that the Multiplayer on the Internet has been restored but you are wondering what needs to be done to get your game back on.
Well, you're in luck because it's really quite simple! Star Wars Battlefront Multiplayer over the Internet no longer uses GameSpy as a host.
Instead it uses SWBFSpy. All you have to do is download a new Battlefront.exe and put it into a specific folder.

What folder, you ask? Easy! Your Battlefront game is in your LucasArts folder.
C:\ProgramFiles\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData
GameData! That's the folder! Move your new exe into there.

Where do you get this new exe? Right here at SWBFgamers.com!

nope,same issue.
everything made by the book ,gamespy file extract in the gamedata folder and the old .EXE removed.when i click on the new .EXE the game icon appears in the task bar of the desktop but doesn t open ,there is an error message and the pc freeze.got to close the game (open in the background of the system but not running)through the task manager.

Are u sure ure using the german file ?

dunno wich is it ,i took the one from the link "download this one" for the new game servers .anyway can u point me to the" german file" if its the good one .

ok i ve found and replaced the previous EXE with the german file,but still the same.it doesn t work.

ok tried all the patches (german,english,french)nothing work,but i forgot to mention that my game is the italian retail.so maybe it needs an italian patch.

It shouldn't. You must be doing it wrong somehow....

You could try hexediting your old exe

Well, that could be asking a lot of things. Google is your friend.
In short, it's to do with binary data along with the "hex" being hexadecimal. That's about all I know from my programming lessons

what is hexediting?

Downlaod HxD (or any other hex editor works too) from the internet then open your original executable using HxD and then press ctrl r and replace all instances of "gamespy.com" with "swbfgamers.com" and you should be good to go

edit by led:   replace "gamespy" with "SWBFspy"   (caps not necessary)

ok thanks ,but i ve fixed it in  a total different way,i ve downloaded the english version of the game (mine was an original italian retail) and now everything work just fine.
