Star Wars Battlefront: EA Reboots 1 and 2 / Missions (offline)
« on: December 08, 2015, 04:13:07 PM »
How you guys doing on the missions?

I managed to get all five stars on the Survival on Hoth map yesterday. There's a secret way to do it!
On master difficulty is the hardest, but I managed to do it while losing only a single life, and while gather all pods and hearts (extra lives) and all collectibles. :)

Don't read further if you don't want to know how to win Survival on Hoth on master difficulty:
Here's the secret. At the end of the cargo bay, and slightly to the right is a corridor that leads to a room that has no other entrances. It's the perfect place for a defensive plan. Just stay there and let the enemy come to you. Then just mow them down with your blaster rifle. Then when there is only one probe droid left, go out and activate the pod(s), gather up a blaster cannon, then take it back to the corridor and set it up in there, it will help you in the later waves when there are a lot of troopers and the shadow troopers come for you. Then, again, after all but one probe droid has been killed, go out and gather all the collectibles and hearts. Then be sure to get back to that corridor before the next wave begins.
Easy as pie.
Still working on how to do it on the other maps. But a similar methodology will likely work there too.

Share your secrets to success, if you know any.

Star Wars Battlefront (2004 Original) / Quick loading of Maps & Mods
« on: November 18, 2009, 07:12:08 PM »
Here's a simple tip to help speed up loading custom maps and side mods.  :tu:

1) Open your Contents/Resources Folder.
2) Make an alias for AddOn Folder. (right-click AddOn folder and select "Make Alias")
3) Open your Contents/Resources/Data/_LVL_PC Folder.
4) Make an alias for SIDE Folder. (right-click SIDE folder and select "Make Alias")
5) Place Alias folders in the Battlefront Folder.. or wherever is most convenient for you.
6) You're done! ... now you never have to right-click again! Just drop maps in the alias folder, they go directly to AddOn or Side folder. And it's just as easy to remove maps and sides.

All Troops Fly: Chaos Mod; Version 3.0 - Final

Released Maps and Mods / Utter Chaos Mod
« on: March 24, 2009, 03:03:55 PM »
I'm working on a new version of my All Troops Fly mod, which will have ridiculous strength weapons in addition to the jet trooper abilities for all troops ... it'll be utter chaos!  :-P

So far it's looking great. In fact, much better than I hoped for.
The goal will be to have maximum power on the weapons, similar (in concept) to what you get in the "Insanity" (ins) map made by Jedikiller. But this will be a sides mod so you can use it on all maps (except mission maps and maps with sides included already). And of course, all troops will be able to fly indefinitely.

I just played the beta version and its absolutely hilarious! I can't wait to share it with you all.
Anyway, just thought I'd let you know it's coming soon.
Keep an eye out for it.
... and here it is! ....

SWBF1 Modding / Modding SWBF in Virtual PC
« on: March 15, 2009, 04:04:18 PM »
I finally figured out the problem I was having munging in VirtualPC. Thought I'd share so no one else goes through the frustration I did.

When I transfer files from the mac side to the VirtualPC side, some of the file names are mysteriously changed.
Not all of the files are changed, or I would have noticed it much sooner, but just enough files to mess up the munging process.
Solution: just transfer all the files in a .zip from the mac side to the VirtualPC side, and open the .zip directly in VirtualPC. Problem solved!
DO NOT unzip in Mac, and then transfer the files to VirtualPC. File names will change, and the munge will not work!

FYI: I'll be posting the Version 1.0 of the All Troops Fly mod as soon as I finish, likely within a week from now. :)

Released Maps and Mods / All Troops Fly Mod version 0.9
« on: March 11, 2009, 07:40:21 PM »
Here's the latest version of the ALL Troops Fly Mod
This has upgraded weapons/skins for the Rebels and Imperials.
Note: I'm having trouble compiling the rep sides so I haven't changed the Republic and CIS from the beta version.
But the Galactic Civil War rocks! Finally, rebels that aren't boring.
Tell me what you think? Suggestions for improvement?

**no screen shots yet, will add them later with an edit to this post***

Requests / Another Munge request, please

I need a munge, please? Can someone help me?
I tried munging on Virtual PC but the resulting lvl files always crash the game. :)

Released Maps and Mods / All Troops Fly Mod - beta Released
« on: March 04, 2009, 06:33:06 PM »
I've made a sides mod. I hope you like it.

What it does: This sides mod gives all troops (except Droideka) jet packs with infinite fuel. It also has minor changes to some of the troops uniform colors. And it changes some of the weapons selection too; the Wookies have concussion grenades added to their normal arsenal. The riflemen all have sniper rifles in place of the pistols. The Vanguards and ARC Troopers have rifles in place of pistols. The snipers have rifles in place of pistols. Jet Troopers have mines added to their normal arsenal. And lastly, all troops have a little more ammunition, grenades, mines, health packs, and remotes, than normal.

Requests / Munge request
« on: March 03, 2009, 04:15:57 PM »
Can someone please munge a sides mod I made?
If you are wondering what it is, I gave all the troops jetpacks with infinite fuel. And gave them all a bit more ammo, and changed the weapon selection a little. And tiny color changes to a few characters.
Thats all it is. But should be fun for game play.
Anyway, if someone can munge it for me I'll give you a mention in the read me file.
Thanks in advance!
