I think Majesty is hosting that server for PFA and Alpha to practice on.

As always, the map looks amazing.  The planet layout is going to make this a very intense tournament.  Thanks for taking the time to make it, 33!

I'm extremely jealous right now.   :whip:

They let you apply, but I wasn't able to get access.

General / Re: Xfire Alternatives (Poll)
June 29, 2015, 03:41:53 PM
I decided to download the programs in the poll and do some research.
Here are a few other things to consider:

- EvolveHQ allows you to sync your Steam and Raptr accounts.
- The EvolveHQ ingame overlay works with Battlefront.

- Origin doesn't allow you to sync with any other chat clients.
- I wasn't able to get Origin's ingame overlay to work for Battlefront.

- Overwolf allows you to sync your Steam and Raptr accounts.
- I wasn't able to get Overwolf's ingame overlay to work for Battlefront.

- Raptr allows you to sync your Steam account.
- Raptr's ingame overlay seems to work for Battlefront.

- I've been looking for a while, and it doesn't look like Steam allows you to sync any other chat clients.
- I wasn't able to get Steam's ingame overlay to work for Battlefront.

- All of them allow you to add Battlefront to your games library manually.

I am not very familiar with any of those programs, so others may have had better luck getting accounts synced and/or getting the ingame overlays to work with Battlefront.  Just because I couldn't figure out how to get it working, doesn't mean it can't work.

General / Xfire Alternatives (Poll)
June 29, 2015, 09:39:46 AM
Information about the alternatives listed above can be found in this topic: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=9273.0

If your preferred chat client is not listed above, please let me know so I can add it.  Also, feel free to tell everyone why you like the alternative(s) that you voted for.  The more information we have, the better.

My goal is to see the bulk of the SWBF community using one of the above options in time for the ICW5.
I prefer Steam, but I understand that some people are not willing to spend money in order to have full functionality.
I originally thought EvolveHQ would be the best option, but now that I've tried Steam a bit more, I prefer it over the other messaging platforms.

A poll would be great.

I can put a poll up within the next few hours.

If anyone has any Xfire alternatives that are not listed in this thread, let me know so I can add it to the poll.

I've been trying to avoid this thread because it reminds me that I won't be able to play the new Battlefront without upgrading.  I've looked at the predicted specs for it, and there's no way my $200 laptop will be able to handle it.

Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat as 33 here; I can't afford a $1,000 PC.

What are my options?  Would it be possible to upgrade my current laptop enough to run Battlefront on low(ish) settings?

I think u misunderstood him, or i did.
Hoth is entenclan's homemap, and he wonders if it is in the ICW5 map list

Ah, I thought he was asking whether or not Hoth would be one of their starting planets.

I misunderstood him.  After re-reading it, I think you answered his question.

Is our homemap Hoth in the Map-Pool?

The planets have not been assigned yet, as far as I know.

They should be assigned shortly after June 30th (the deadline for clans to sign up).

This tool will be very useful.  Thanks for sharing this with the community.

If you're looking to create an upgraded version, a manual refresh button would be useful.  :)

I have our list of members publicly posted in the YAK Recruitment Thread (link in my signature) if you need it for reference. YAK's member list will be changing quite a bit throughout the tournament and I would rather not have to update two lists.

Other Games / Re: 2015 steam summer sale
June 18, 2015, 10:42:12 AM
I picked up Garry's Mod for $4.99 (well worth it) and I may get the Left 4 Dead + Left 4 Dead 2 pack before the sale is over.

This isn't really Steam Sale-related, but does anyone here use Blender?  I noticed that it was free, and I've always been kind of curious.

General / Re: Xfire alternatives: Pros and Cons
June 11, 2015, 07:15:00 PM
I've been using EvolveHQ and I know it supports Xfire, Raptr, and Steam.  I am liking EvolveHQ, so I think I'm going to stick with it unless the bulk of the community decides to relocate elsewhere.

If anyone wants to add me on Evolve, my username is ZChoseN1.

Led, do you think you could add some extra ID fields for EvolveHQ, Raptr, ect.?

I wish we could have had more notice--there are a lot of people I will likely lose contact with.

I would like to see the community decide as a whole where we will be relocating, rather than everyone going to this-or-that IM program.
