Hello all,

We've been hearing about this a lot now and I'm sure all of us who own the game have been excited by the rumours of such a feature. I found these screenshots quite interesting:

It could be clever photoshop however I still believe this could be true considering what the EA reps and devs have been saying. There's a bit of discussion about it on Reddit too:
https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/4p5e29/offline_instant_action_coming_soon_to_star_wars/

What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks and have a great day!

I will call this as bogus.

They would never call it "Instant Action", since this was a term used by Pandemic.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet

It's not fake, the uploader has leaked unreleased weapons in the past such as the Bacta Bomb and more recently the Stinger Pistol. The files were also uploaded by a different data miner on Reddit. It's definitely legit.

Here's the uploader's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXqWq-iT_F2X1VFK5NfdmFQ/videos

Thanks for the link on this! I did hear that he had predicted it multiple times before.

On the bright side, perhaps this could mean something for the ICW? I mean, they have been making some tweaks to their "Private Lobby" matches every time the game updates so I'm sure ICW may soon be an option? I'd love to play it on the new Battlefront as well as have the older Battlefront to go back to!

Or perhaps keep ICW to Battlefront 2004 and have a new tournament especially for EA Battlefront?

Well, there are private matches available now.

All we need is an organizer and the will to play the game.

Well I'm sure lots of people would like to participate. It would also grow this community dramatically since it's a new game. I wouldn't organize it myself but I'm sure there are people out there who would, and I'd be willing to help. Perhaps people whom are already a part of this community.

It's definitely not fake. Corra_Ashu was the first to break the news on Facepunch when he went through the Bespin DLC's files. But it's clearly not finished either. I don't think these files were meant to be included in the Bespin DLC - it was probably put in by some sneaky dev who wanted people to know it was coming.

As to what to expect, the files suggest we will have full ports of Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron (the former is the most interesting but I suppose they want to big modes first). Corra_Ashu found data for tokens, customizations and heroes in the files.

At the moment, the option, when enabled, is just a menu. It does not load at all. But it does seem DICE has been testing bots in multiplayer modes - I've seen screens taken during matches that show units with the same "bot" dot above them as the bot fighters in Fighter Squadron.

More might come to light next weekend at Star Wars Celebration. I'll be sure to ask questions - I'm going to be there on the Sunday.
In Progress:

--SWBFEA Demakes

Completed:

On Hold:

no galactic conquest? tiss tiss DICE  :moo:

I wouldn't speak too soon. It could happen. Plus, let's be grateful that EA have actually listened for once :XD:

This news is pretty great! Will you let us know of their response after (if any)?

Instant Action (or "Skirmish", as it is now called) has been officially confirmed by DICE, and it will release next week on the 20th: http://starwars.ea.com/starwars/battlefront/news/whats-next-for-star-wars-battlefront-this-summer

Currently it only supports Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron, but there will probably be more modes added later. And even if there isn't, this is still a vast improvement over the singleplayer we had before.

I hope this brings us more modding opportunities.
The years just fly past, don't they?

Some confirmed details:

-Co-Op works the same way as it does on Missions. Split screen is exclusive to consoles.
-The factions are selectable rather than automatically assigned like they are in MP. Both players in co-op have a choice of faction so they can either play co-op or versus.

Still awaiting confirmation that your customizations and star card hands will be available, but I'm fairly confident they will be given the code was there in the Bespin patch. I'm guessing there will be early play for those of us attending Celebration this weekend (I'm going on the Sunday myself).

This is great news! But there's one huge question. Does it cost? If it does, I'd be willing to spend money on it but it'll only make me hate DICE more. And possibly millions of other players.

I don't mind the name "Skirmish" as it reminds me of the times I used to spend play Halo Wars Skirmish on Xbox 360.

"Will it cost" Considering how many of the new modes that they've released have to be bought in the expansions, then I bet that this might cost as well. I won't spread EA/Dice hate here.
