hey guys, i have come up with a new unit idea

its a jedi 'assassin' XD

do some of you know the assassins creed series?

if you do, then you must know ezio/altair/connor

i saw recently a photo of an edited assassin (like ezio/altair/connor) but
their hidden blades were replaced with tiny little jedi swords
i would give him ofcourse an 'upgraded' version of the sniper rifle (i will do that myself)

here is the pic

good jedi assassin:

sith jedi assassin:

does this look cool?
for me it is, thats why i want to create him for swbf1

i need help with modeling, skinning the assassin, and give him the hidden jedi blade (i already tried to do it but it turns out it isnt easy :p)

is anyone intrested??

i certainly am!

Hahaha, that looks insanely cool. Assassins Creed is my favorite game series! I think the skinning might be possible but the tiny lightsabers arent.. This would be better in swbf2.

Regarding the skin/model the Robbed Jedi model could be used with a few alterations.

I've used those models before and they look awful in SWBF1. There's transparent patches all over them and the hoods are half transparent.

I can take a look at getting the cloaked models looking/working ok in BF1.

But the goal in the above pics is way out of my skill set.

-edit
of course any cloth in the model would be removed....
The robe is cloth, but the hood isn't.
That might be a deal breaker.

-edit
real quick..
For the hooded Anakin:
Removed all CLTH and extra collision chunks. (BF1 can't use them)
Fixed bad poly errors.
Duplicated the robe material with the transperancy and took transperancy off the dup.
Changed his legs to use the one with out transprancy.

(didn't get a before pic, sorry)
2 images.
On the left, I disabled the doublesided transperancy.
The inside of the hood is see-through, but his legs arent all spotted and wierd.

The right is where I dupped the material and swapped the reference in the legs.
The inside of the hood is opaque, and the legs look like they were supposed to.

There is a visible gap between the upper and lower torso models.
But if a skinned skirt were added, it might be able to be skinned to look like part of the robe and would cover that gap (mostly)

Of course, to meet the goal, It would look much better buildt it in XSI.
But a semi-plausable one could be done.
Kinetos Impetus has given permission to modify the models (if done tastefully) in the read-me.

Anyone want to skin it if I continue with the repair work?

-edit
Forgot about the sabers.
If those could be made as props, they could be fitted as non functional pieces.
Then I guess give the unit a model-less melee weapon.

I don't know about all the glowing.
Thats something that whoever makes them would need to know.

Or even done up as a weapon like the dual pistols.
Of course, the animations would be limited.

i have an idea; if someone could import  the jedi robed version that unit 33 showed us to a swbf1 compatible unit, then we would be alot futher

the robe shouldnt be that detailed like in the picture, just a black robe should be good enough, and ofcoure, the hood should look VERY cool :D

for the hidden sabers, i would just take 1 hidden saber, 2 would be to difficult because that would require an addon

so just 1 hidden saber on the right hand

i really want to have this mod done, and if it seems to hard to make it for swbf1, i suggest we make it for swbf2

and tirpider, i would skin it if its done (if nobody else want to do it, because im not an 'expert' of skinning (jet) :P )

I can skin it, I've got a whole lot of skins that I'm juggling at the moment, so the more the merrier.
Send the assets whenever.

Groovy, I'll keep going on it then.
It's in rotation with 5 projects, total.
(2 are long term)

I have a starting point for the bottom of his 'robe'.
The same thing thats happening to Solo.

Still have to pull the part.

Something to concider.
In Battlefront 1, there is no cloth.
So the robes will only animate with the bones they are mapped to.
(like the skirt on the snow troopers)
In Battlefront 2, the models can use cloth that moves and collides on it's own.

I don't even have a copy of BF2 for the PC, so there is no way for me to even see cloth, let alone, try to work with it.
If you decide to take this to BF2 for the potentialy better quality model, I can't do that.

That being said, I'll get a dev_model put together as quick as I can. :)

just for swbf1 would be good

and let the animations attach to the bones like you said, keep it simple XD

Simple is good.
I get over-ambitious sometimes and have to dial things back a bit.

but, i have an idea

we could add the dooku cape or darth vader cape over the backside of the robe, so there IS a cape animation

the cape will be over the normal 'robe' so this is invisible

good idea? :p

Good Idea.
Since it's an odf add-on, we can test it after the model is built.
