SWBF1 Modding Tutorials / Re: Sound for the opposite era

It would seem to me that you have over-written certain sounds.  I don't have the expertise, but you would need to get the sound files, rename them, and then remunge them.  Even then, I'm not sure.

Quote from: SG-17 on December 30, 2025, 08:26:08 AMAs you may know, hosting a server from your home computer generally results in the Ping showing up as N/A in the server browser, at least on PS2. Is there a specific port that needs to be forwarded to allow the ping to show correctly?

I currently forward:
TCP: 3389, 3558, 3658, 3659, 4658, 6500, 27900, 29910, 29920, 45000, 50139, 50140, 50143, 50156, 50210, 59589, 59673
UDP: 3558, 3658, 3659, 4658, 6500, 27900, 29910, 29920

Am I missing any here?

If it really uses ping, then it is ICMP controlled and is not a port.

maybe the information here can help

You might see if there is a 'respond to ping' in your router/firewall.

My recollection is that this was an issue even before Gamespy went away.

Go ahead and post links to a couple of maps that you would like standard units on...the holiday break is coming up and if I would ever have time, it would be in the next 4-5 weeks.

What I can do is a mission.lvl mod that may or may not end up with what you want.

From NFO Server--host of the master server and game server and files downloads

--------

Physical move early 11/11, 11/12, 11/13, or 11/14 with some downtime and a reboot
Nov 03 2025 02:56:02 PM PT    Starting at 12:01 AM CST on Tuesday, November 11, we will be migrating hardware in Chicago each night of the work week to new physical cabinets in a different building (going from very old cabinets resold from Equinix to new ones we directly lease from CoreSite, in a building a few blocks away). This will cause some downtime for your service, which we will limit as much as possible but is likely to last several hours on a single day.

More specifically, both physical locations will continue running and share a network. Each morning, we will be moving some of the gear to the new facility, and that specific gear will be offline while it is being unracked, shuttled over, re-racked, re-cabled, and re-energized. This means that your personal downtime should only occur on a single one of the mornings -- most likely the morning of 11/12 or 11/13, when we will do the bulk of the moves. While we are working diligently in the cabinets, there is also the possibility of bumped power or network cords on other nights, however, so your service could go offline at other times in the early morning hours as well. There may also be a short connectivity blip on the final day when we take the original location entirely offline and route exclusively through the new one.

To the extent that we can, we will attempt to gracefully shut down customer services before the machines are unplugged. However, if you have an unmanaged service, we recommend that you perform an additional backup of any irreplaceable files prior to the maintenance -- though very unlikely, there is a possibility of multiple drive disk failures occurring or disk corruption due to a machine abruptly losing power.

This is a highly-scripted event that we have performed several other times at other locations. The new facility has a router that we have preconfigured, and we have pre-mounted rails and pre-wired cables to speed up installation.

I have the map packs but not the assets...I suggest a PM to Red04 and see if he can refresh his mega link.
