this is a really cool map, well done on making it! only suggestions are to replace the yavin textures with some from the spire, and also increase the bot count. if you'd like some help with implementing the gunship's sounds, feel free to contact me and i'll try to make you a sound file to use.

SWBF1 Modding / potential early kashyyyk docks layout?

was looking through the files out of boredom and came across a few files which i'm assuming are super unfinished minimaps of early builds, such as "naboox.tga" and in this case Kas2.tga, i thought i'd seen the map layout somewhere before and went digging through some datamining vids and found a more "complete" version of the kas2.tga file on dylanrocket's video. looked as though the attackers were originally going to storm the beach and the platforms wouldve made for better sniper spots, my guess is that they changed this map due to the attacker/defender selection being removed. it looks like its made up from the standard games' assets so it would be easy to recreate although command post locations would be somewhat speculative.

it's nothing insane, just something i found slightly cool, or maybe i'm just easily impressed haha. hopefully we'll get many more prototype leaks, and also the source code (lol one can dream)

it's been a problem since the early days of swbf modding, Majin Revan asked psych0fred about it back in 2005 but he seemingly didn't understand that trying to munge the .stm gives the following error:

the only work around i've found is to implement the stream as a custom sound via the ripped sfx, it doesnt really affect or bother me too much but i found it strange how the sfx and asfx work perfectly fine. i'm guessing its something to do with the .bat files

After recently playing some old ≈ 2005 era bf1 maps and getting re-entranced into the old legends lore, I've been putting together this large scale ground assault map, set on the planet Tangrene from the Thrawn book "Dark Force Rising". And also decided to dig into the world of bf1 discoveries and was surprised by how simple it was to implement the extra units via Phantom's work, they're not final and just placeholders at the moment so should hopefully have some more interesting equipment.

I should have it finished within the next two weeks, as theres not much left to do - just boring stuff like downsizing the files and making some new weapon odfs.

all credit to dark_phantom for his patcher to make the extra units possible. He rocks!

Looking good! Your mods (mainly the sides) always make me think that they're like the dice games if they were actually good haha

More than likely it is indeed something to do with the OSA, I noticed a couple of older sites that i'd visit in the past have been timing out since the start of last month. weird how it loads up completely fine on my iphone, but then again my knowledge of how websites work is very limited LOL

Yup, near Cardiff haha, it's strange how his site worked just fine a few years ago when i got into modding

Funnily enough i was using firefox before (i'm the #1 chrome hater haha), the link opened fine on my phone via firefox but still not on pc but you did lead me the idea of trying a random free vpn which has worked  :cheer:

Thanks so much for your help mate, really appreciate it  :cheers: I guess my PC hates secretsociety for some reason or more likely the tplink wifi adapter does lol

thanks your reply mate, i just downloaded it again from here a few minutes ago and after looking in the misc folder located in psych0 projects, its completely empty, although everything else seems to be there. it's no issue if it can't be found, just some of those models would make good scenery for a map i'm currently finishing off  :tu:

i've tried the link on the released assets thread, however the folder containing the misc models is empty and secretsociety doesn't want to load (not sure if the site is dead or it's just my internet being weird).

Hello all, just wondering how i'd go about implementing a cross era announcer (specifically getting the rebel one to work in clone wars).

hello everyone, i've returned after nearly 5 years, and its good to be back. i'm currently working on making the era exclusive maps playable for both, however i'm wondering how many bots per team can the game can support. a lot of the mods from back in the day like the old majin revan ones could take about 50vs50 and that was right on the edge of how far this game could be pushed before crashing frequently, you can work around it by lowering the draw distance but thats slightly inconvinient lol. i'm mainly asking because eventually i'd love to port over the march 2004 beta maps and add more units, vehicles, updated sounds/sides to make them feel less barren, also because I SUCK at making custom maps haha.
