A kind member of the community gave me the link to the video I mentioned above. 2009... crazy.

Star Wars Battlefront (2004 Original) / GGW2 Video and other SWBF1 History
October 16, 2024, 05:04:51 PM
Good evening battlefrontians who still hold the front lines for us.
I just went to find the Great Galactic War 2 Tournament website on webs but apparently webs.com no longer exists. All the tournament websites, clan websites, modding showcases, and everything are all gone. I am interested in using this thread to post any historical data that people may have and want to post somewhere but specifically I was wondering if anyone had the link to a video I remember commemorating the GGW2. My clan (AaTc) along with DssR and _(VS)_ won it and there was a cool video about it on the GGW website. I think it may have been posted to youtube but with such a generic name I can't find anything by searching for it. If anyone has a link that would be awesome. xfire, gamespy, and then the final vestige of webs has finally fallen. RIP my favorite game.
----
I found the AaTc clan website in the Wayback Machine at aatcclan.webs.com. I'll look for my mod showcase next but I wanted to put here an interesting tidbit I found: The xfire shutdown message:
System Broadcast:
Dear Xfire users - It is with sadness that we must announce that the Xfire Social services will be shutdown on Friday (June 12th). Please visit social.xfire.com to download your video/screenshot data. We apologize for the short notice - Xfire Community Team

General / Re: Memories on the Battlefront
January 21, 2023, 08:50:45 PM
I figure why start a new topic when I could just bump this one a couple years into the future.
I think I've talked on here before of how much SWBF1 meant to me. Some of my most formative experiences (for better or worse) were on that game. Even modding the game has stuck with me as a creative itch I always have to keep scratching in some way. I love having a vision of something and bringing it to life in some creative medium. It's the only time I really feel purpose in life.
I also still to this day struggle to make friendships better than the ones I had as a kid in this game. Some of you guys are still around but most of them I never realized when I talked to them for the last time. I think that's why I still visit old websites every now and then. I can never beat the hilarity of those servers. Sometimes I'd just have long conversations on xfire with my friends without even playing any game. I rarely have long conversations with friends into the night nowadays but it does happen on occasion. It's just surprising to think about me doing that as a kid. I never even knew what most of my best friends looked like lol.
Since I'm droning on now I'll wrap it up with this: I have a lot of great memories I'll cherish forever. Nade pulting, glitching, sniping, tournaments (AaTc winning GGW2 is still a highlight of my life lol,) winning tough matches, and modding were so fun. Still the best memories I have are of "sledding" on Rhen Var, or playing "wookie hunt" on CC, or glitch hunting on mod maps in a server with friends or clanmates. The relationships made this game. I doubt there will ever be a game like it.

I seem to remember being able to search the downloads page by user but now it seems to need some text to search as well. I'm just trying to see all uploads by a certain user though. Is this possible? Can't seem to figure it out.

Star Wars Battlefront (2004 Original) / AaTc Veterans on Discord
September 21, 2021, 01:19:18 PM
Hey guys I made this post in case some old AaTc members find this site. We have a discord for AaTc Veterans now and while we aren't an active clan we do use the discord to stay in touch and organize clan events every now and then. Activity is not mandatory but I really hope some more old members will find this message somehow and come say hey. We also have several non-clan members in the discord that are old friends of the clan so anyone is welcome. We get together on SWBF every once in a while and play mod maps/pub servers as well as other games. It's fun to catch up, hang out, and share old memories. I also recently made a SWBF1 Map (somehow I've remembered how to mod after all these years) that is specifically for AaTc. If you don't know, SWBF1 is available on Steam for $10 and has multiplayer again. We don't play hardly at all but its fun to get on for a group event. I hope you guys see this and contact me somehow.

I hope you guys can find me. AaTc forever.

Released Maps and Mods / =AaTc= SLICE Base 1.8
June 11, 2021, 04:47:42 PM
I finally fulfilled my long time dream of making AaTc a clan map. I originally just let the SWBF Museum represent my clan as well as all clans but with the assets of the Museum I decided to make AaTc it's own map. Is this 10 years too late? Yes. Was it mildly cathartic for me anyway? Yes. Hopefully those clan members who are still around in our discord will get together on it one last time. Still, I figured I would release it for others to experience. It's a fun monument to all clans really. It also exhibits a concept I never put into existence: turning a regular map into a zombie map mid-game at will. You can release a zombie horde at anytime to turn it into a zombie apocalypse. It's a lot of fun on single and multiplayer.
Things to do:
-Visit Maxfly Temple for screenshots, records, etc.
-Visit Cyclone's Cantina for a cold drink, clan pics, roughhousing with AI, abusing the robot bartenders, etc.
-Race through the Valley of the Mandalore's (A title in AaTc for exceptional leaders of the clan)
-Bomb n00bs (from the SWBF Museum) who may try to interrupt your races through the canyon.
-Find easter eggs (possibly some under the map as well as elsewhere)
AaTc Forever. RIP.

I'll try to get a SWBFGamers link but it was too big.

SWBF1 Modding / Re: Crashing Multiplayer but not Singleplayer
June 08, 2021, 06:36:50 PM
Just me as soon as it loads in. It's very similar to SWBF Museum but that works on multiplayer.
Could it be too many vehicles? I probably have 20-30 on the map. Some placed and some spawned.
I do have the memory pool set for it but maybe multiplayer artificially lowers it?
I thought it was my "placed in ZE" units but after removing those it still crashes.
----------
Ok so I removed the placed units as well as placed vehicles (except for some kaadus) and that solved the crashing. I suspect it was Sereja's Barge that I set as a type: "huge" for planning purposes but I got an sptest error for that. I haven't investigated that further. I also put my placed units back in the map after it started working again to see if that did it and it did indeed crash the map.

SWBF1 Modding / Crashing Multiplayer but not Singleplayer
June 08, 2021, 04:41:51 PM
Are there any common causes of a map crashing in multiplayer but not singleplayer? I don't have any objects that would immediately make me think it could crash in multiplayer but after running the map fine in singleplayer I'll start a server and it'll crash upon loading. Is it just because it's steam? Maybe .lua issue?
