Being that SWBF is single-threaded (as Dark_Phantom said) and server CPUs generally run at lower clock speeds, you may actually see worse performance than a regular CPU with a higher clock speed.

That being said, it's old enough of a game that it probably really won't matter and you likely wouldn't notice much of any difference either way.

Yes, as I understand it the point of the program is to "preserve" the game as is, not fix it. Which is why I don't think we will really see anything happen until we see further changes to Windows (perhaps the next OS after WIN11). I'm sure it would have to be something that would actually break the game.

Interesting, I don't think it makes a big difference right now, but it will be interesting to see where this program winds up in 10+ years.

I was a serious late joiner to SWBF1, as I didn't discovered multiplayer until 2014. I had been playing SWBF2 online until it was announced that the servers were going to go offline. Desperate to still play online I searched for alternate ways to play online and discovered Tunngle and also discovered that people still played SWBF1 online via Tunngle. I tried it out and shortly after had joined the BOBclan, and well the rest is history.

I have a lot of good memories in SWBF1.

I just realized that our link on the Guestbook is dead, so we are going to have to fix that.
