Woot! This is good news. I do hope they keep this up, it'll be great to have them be continuously playable and easy to launch in the future! GOG is great!

Released Maps and Mods / Re: Star Wars: Battlefront - Anniversary Edition RELEASED
March 28, 2025, 05:00:14 AMQuote from: Giftheck on December 11, 2024, 05:50:50 AMI'm working on the next patch and update. I'd like to get some opinions on what I should include:
A) Selection of classic mod maps (I have permission from Rends to modify his Coruscant City and Streets)
B) Remaining maps from SWBF2 (Geonosis, Kamino, Kashyyyk, Theed nighttime)
C) Selection of my own custom maps (Scarif, Theed, Invisible Hand)
D) Some combination of the above
Space maps are a ways off, still a lot to work out on that front.
I think it'd be cool to see a combination of both your own custom maps and a selection of classic mod maps as well!

Other Games / Re: Battlefront 3 2008 (Free Radical) Wii Build leaked?

Everything I've seen about it make me wish that another studio would take the remnants of the game and release it officially, even if they had to name it something else that isn't "Battlefront III".

Other Games / Battlefront 3 2008 (Free Radical) Wii Build leaked?
December 28, 2024, 11:35:27 PM
Not sure where to put this or if this is even okay to discuss here, https://youtu.be/VId3pYlArAI, but apparently one of the final builds for Battlefront 3 by Free Radical was found and archived by Free Radical Archives, it's even playable using Dolphin. Has anyone tried this out yet?

Late happy birthday to Battlefront!
What gdh92 said! That all depends on if this community as a whole continues for that long!

SWBF1 Modding / Re: Endor: Imperial Base [WIP]

It's funny you should mention Naboo, because my Theed Supremacy map can be considered a loose remake of it as it's inspired by the layout. I have actually begun adding stuff to it when I can to bring it even closer.
Ooh. If it's out then I'll have to check it, but if it's not out yet then I'll wait patiently to try the map out. My favourite part of the Naboo map in BF2 2017 is the palace interior.

Damn Giftheck! I'm really liking the look of this!
Question on the side - Do you also plan in the future to demake some BF2 2017 maps? One I'd like to see if Naboo!
Keep up the super awesome work on this!

March 19, 2024, 06:04:47 AMQuote from: Giftheck on March 19, 2024, 02:08:01 AMShaymin has indeed confirmed it. He's had copies of the 1.0 game dumped on multiple platforms and found his files in the demunge.
Damn. They said they wouldn't do that, definitely can't be trusted. I'm glad the KOTOR Remake project was taken off of them.

I've seen a screenshot of 0 servers on both SWBF1 and SWBF2 in the CC. This is horrendous and Aspyr should feel ashamed of letting the games release like this.
I hope Steam start accepting refunds for this game no matter how many hours people have, this is like Cyberpunk except the issues are with multiplayer...

Looks like the MP is in a worst state today than it was the other day:

Not a lot of aspyr servers, sometimes more appear and sometimes they don't appear at all.

I don't know what I just witnessed, but it seems most of the Aspyr dedicated servers for BF2 crashed all at once?
The game DC'd me and when I went to look at the server browser, all of the aspyr servers were gone. I even restarted the game and they were still gone.

I do wonder about that as well. I've only returned to the game recently, mainly when they announced a classic collection was coming out. Battlefront's netcode has always been rubbish, not sure if Aspyr would've been able to completely change the netcode on a "port" budget, but this collection is what I'd call a "soft-remaster", according to what I've heard, most of the textures were put through AI-Upscaling. Not entirely sure if that's true, but I've played for about an hour or 2 today and found that the servers seem to be a lot more stable.
I'm in the camp that I'm glad to have the CC because of the xbox dlc being officially supported now and other stuff, but I do think if the people who are complaining about the game submit feedback to Aspyr that they might actually put in effort to fix the issues. With all the issues surrounding Embracer recently, I wouldn't be surprised if the budgets for certain projects were quite low.

There's been a new statement from Aspyr Joe about the situation with the multiplayer servers at launch:
https://support.aspyr.com/hc/en-us/articles/25019494892429-An-update-on-the-STAR-WARS-Battlefront-Classic-Collection
According to this statement, they experienced critical errors with their network infrastructure at launch.
