  I recommend the Logitech f710.  It costs around 40 US dollars, and it as good as all the other controllers you can find.  The d pad and analogue stick controls can be swapped mid game without fiddling around with any settings.  It also has two different input methods, so the controller works great for both new and old games.  However, many people including myself have issues with the wireless connection.  The controller must be close to the receiver, and some operating systems work better with the receiver than others.  Windows 8 worked okay-ish, windows 10 is much better.  Not sure about windows 7 or lower.

  If you are playing racing games, I always recommend a wheel.  CM games tend to work okay without a wheel, but it is always better with a wheel.  If you want a controller to play Battlefront, I understand a wheel would not be ideal.  I have tried controllers with SWBF on PC and I dislike the feel.  I don't recommend it, but it does work.

  If you really want to go the cheap route, check a goodwill or other similar stores.  I have found many great, high quality controllers/wheels/joysticks at those places, most can be bought for 2-5$.

   Anyways for those who don't know, Humble Bumble has launched their second Star Wars sale.  The games are mostly very old titles, with a few from the previous sale thrown in.  The prices (as of post) are $1, $7.32, and $10 for the different tiers.  There's also a shirt for $35 with all the games.

On an unrelated note, it is quite nice to see the community still active. 

NR2003 is like the best sim of ever. 
And simbin games (Like GTR2) are amazing.

I have a really nice computer, so I have been able to play games like GSC:E and pCARS.  Both are great fun, but pCARS is borderline sim, unfortunately.   

Unfortunately, my internet is...       horrible, and only getting slower.  iRacing may be possible because of the brilliant netcode, so I'm going to try and play it someday soon.

Driving Force Pro wheels are a very underrated wheel I feel, but I can definitely recommend the G27 to upgrade to.

There are many different types of racing games and everybody has a different preference.  I am unaware of your preferences (If you have on, yet) so it would be very hard to say. 

If you are going to avoid anything the slightest sim-ish, buying a wheel will still help, but not required. 

Like others have suggest, Copa something blah-blah is free and a sim.  So you can get the feel for a sim without paying any money, so I'd download that.  Copa is a very basic edition of Game Stock Car (Euro stock car racing, not American oval style) which is just a modified rFactor.  If you like Copa, try rFactor or GSC.   

Also, I would highly suggest the highly suggest the Dirt and Grid games (Except Grid 2, and Dirt Rally).  I think you would definitely enjoy those.  I played Dirt 3 with a keyboard once and it worked magnificently, so I would assume you would find luck with one of those if you are going to avoid a wheel.

I give you all permission to shoot me if you disagree, but I find keyboards better then controllers most of the time. 

Yay, something I actually know something about!

First and foremost, the three most basic types of racing games are:

Arcade does not require a wheel. (Examples:  Flatout, Burnout, Trackmania, Need for Speed (Except Shift1/2)
Simcade have aspects of sim racing but still has an exceptionally large amount of arcadiness.  You should use a wheel but it does work without it. (Examples:  NFS Shift, Grid)
Sim.  You pretty much have to use a wheel.  (Examples:  iRacing, rFactor, Race 07)

For either simcade and simulation I HIGHLYsuggest a wheel.  If you live in a town with plenty of thrift stores, with a bit of luck you can buy wheels for 1/5 of the price of one on amazon depending on the wheel.

I see that most people have already suggest the more common games, so I shall try to give you some new ones.

Flatout 1/2 is a great destruction styled racing game.  It's often compared to burnout but is actually very different.  You don't need a wheel for this game.

The Race series by Simbin is good but you would need a steering wheel.

Driver San Francisco is one of the best arcade racers ever in my opinion.

Crazy Taxi is a very fun old arcade game.

Dirt Track Racing 2 is an old fun game that is slightly more sim-ish than simcade but not a full blown sim.  I managed to use a keyboard with it.

Raceroom Racing Experience is free but comes with very few things.  You have to pay a lot of real money for it.  IT's also a sim, so use a wheel.

NetKar Pro is free now but has been taken offline.  Now it has just practice modes.  I'd suggest a wheel.

No, I mean the original KoTOR (And I would assume the second sometime after) is rumored to be resold for Xbox One and PS4 (And I would assume PC).  The game I also heard MAY get a heavy patch adding content and other such related things.

I mean, it is possible.  KoTORs have been given a lot of attention lately.  Remember KII's recent patch?  K1 Going on android?  And if it is, I think we can expect that story to go cannon.  And hopefully changed.  (Exile being LSM, instead of LSF).

I'm about as hyped for a new or remastered KOTOR as a little kid about to go to a candy store.

This is really cool!  I love the Old Republic era and could never get into "The Old Republic" because my internet is too slow, as well as the time it would take to complete.  I don't won't to waste my money on a book that had such a bad use of the exile.  So, I don't know the whole story. 

I'm almost 20 minutes in, and so far it's really good for a fan film. 

On a related note, am I the only one who has heard the rumors of the remastered KoTOR games?  It doesn't seem like the rumors are true, but it has potential to be.

SWBF1 came before destructible enviroments in the Battlefield series. (I believe)  SWBF1 was extremely similar to Battlefield in the way of maps, characters, and campaign (I think) and instant action.  The difference is combat, the combat is extremely different.  SWBF1 was a Star Wars version of Battlefield (but I agree nothing like COD) but with it's own original twist.  Though every FPS for a long time has been extremely similar to other franchises so it could just be coincidence of Battlefront and Battlefield similarity.  As they say, originality is only unknown plagiarism.   

So, if you can talk about it to other people (Im unsure of rules) could you answer some of my questions?

1.  I didn't think it would feel like any of the previous Battlefronts, does it feel like the old ones?  If so, does it feel more like 1 or 2?

2. What games does it most feel like, COD, Battlefield or previous SWBFs?

3. Rolling isn't included so far, is it?

4. Is it fun? Worth the price?
