SWBF2 Modding / Re: Hex BF1 maps for BF2
September 16, 2025, 10:28:17 PM
You don't need to edit anything with the hex editor. Marvel4 already shared his conversion scripts on Gametoast: https://www.gametoast.com/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=24321

The last link is exactly what you're looking for. I hope it helps.

Quote from: Led on September 06, 2025, 01:00:07 AMI have the map packs but not the assets...I suggest a PM to Red04 and see if he can refresh his mega link.

Thanks for responding, LED. It's a shame you don't have them.

I'll see if Red04 responds, although he hasn't been online since 2024.

I hadn't seen this before and posted this in requests, sorry:

Red04's Conversion Map Pack 1.2 assets.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has the resource files, as the download link in the thread is no longer available.

Thread link: https://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=14331.0

Download not available:

Hi, what the title says, what I really want is to change the .TGA and .ODF (Cloth) file names to something longer, because hex editing is not cool.

I must say that I have found ways to do it with programs, but with certain bugs, I mainly want to do this to organize.

Any ideas?

P.S.: If I find out how to do it without errors, I'll edit the topic.

EDIT: As I said, I'll share my solution, the best solution is "SchMEe" from "tirpider", but I can't edit the .ODF name of the .MSH file.

Something is something, I have also learned to put parts of one unit in another, like backpacks (directly in the model, not as a complement).

If someone wants to search and learn how to use this program, they can do it on this site.

Wow! that's disappointing @Dark_Phantom but thanks for the clarification, 18 years without knowing.

And @Unit 33 I liked that, it's another option if you're looking for a stealthy character.

Quote from: {PLA}gdh92 on March 23, 2022, 02:41:39 AMIt's been a while since I tried it but I think if you don't die at all you can be the last one on your team. Dune sea is a good one to try it.
It's interesting, I'll definitely try it.

EDIT:

I confirm it, it is possible to be the last if you don't die, although I wish I could die to choose another unit, but hey, that's not bad.

SWBF1 Modding / Like being the last one standing.

Hello, in BF2 you can be the last unit on the map, but in BF1 when there is one reinforcement point left to defeat another unit is with you on the battlefield.

I know that when there are 20 reinforcements left the announcer announces the defeat and the units abandon the vehicles and their hero dies.

That doesn't bother me, what does bother me is being behind an allied unit to protect it, I have enough with surviving alone, especially on Hard difficulty.

What I can do?

Hello, I know that a few days ago I saw this model, but I may be wrong.

I am looking for a model like Commander Bly but with the DC-17 covers attached to the Kama, which in turn is attached to the model.

Any help is welcome.

EDIT:

Sorry, I didn't know exactly where the right place to post it was.

Anyway thank you both very much for helping.

Quote from: Dark_Phantom on October 15, 2021, 08:01:40 AMthe core lvl tool has a "Multi-Language Tool" exe with it.  That's how you edit the localizations, and it's the only way to do it at this time.
I know friend, but in an existing map created by a person you have a "core.lvl" file and to edit the ".cfg" files I need to extract them with the SleepKiller tool, then put those ".cfg" files in your tool (very grateful for this by the way) and run "Multi-Language Tool.exe" and then translate the texts such as the name of the map, the description, etc...

The fact is that the ".cfg" files are not extracted correctly and it is impossible to translate them, so I can only wait for SleepKiller to continue working on its program.

What I am looking for is to translate all of this from English to my language, but from the existing mods the only way to get a mod in my language is to create it myself and I prefer to translate the existing ones.

I guess the only hope I have is that SleepKiller continues with "SWBF-Unmunge" and the extracted localization is useful for editing.

Quote from: Led on October 13, 2021, 04:58:47 PMlook for core.lvl tool to do localization
But the core.lvl of an existing map has ".loc" and ".cfg" files inside that I can't modify.

If I extract them with the SleepKiller tool they become useless.
