Just a word of warning: a hacker has compromised iamashaymin's (the SWBF3 Legacy lead developer) account and has already tried to compromise other accounts in an attempt to close down SWBF-related Discord servers - SWBF3 Legacy's official server and the Gametoast server were targeted. If anybody here is on Discord and has been in contact with shaymin prior, you might want to block and report that account, and be sure to change passwords if you use the same password outside of Discord just to be sure. And remember: if somebody suddenly sends you something on Discord that is unsolicited, and makes a request like "hi, please test my game", then it's 99% an attempt to hijack your account.

This particular hacker masqueraded as shaymin by providing details that related to the community, such as certain in-jokes in the community, so be extra vigilant.

The code for the console spawn screen is quite different to the PC version. The limit doesn't appear to exist, or at least not as restricted on the console spawn screen.

One big thing to note: there's absolutely no way they have two separate builds, and there's absolutely no way they're using the PC spawn screens for console, especially given that the PC spawn screens are unwieldy af on PC, let alone trying to navigate them with controllers.

Which likely means we're getting the console UI for PC.

And that means goodbye to the 5 unit limit for SWBF1.

I would honestly contemplate abandoning modding the older versions just for that.

I'm happy to finally be able to play these games on the go (I'll be buying on Switch). I am curious what the modding situation will be, though. I don't consider this affecting my plans - my mods target the currently-existing versions - but it would be nice to know whether modding will be possible in these new versions.

Also, the PC version is being reported as needing 50GB free space. The games originally don't even take up half that.

Features both the first and second games, plus DLC. Will release on Steam, PS4, PS5 and Switch.

I've now concluded the pre-alpha testing phase of Star Wars: Battlefront - Anniversary Edition, with the next phase being the implementation of the SWBF2 map pack. This will take some time and require a second testing period. Once that's concluded, this will be parked until September 21 - the 20th anniversary of the release of the original game.

I have news!

First off, it has been a while. In the Summer last year, I lost my modding mojo. In the Autumn, I began a Masters degree, which has taken up a lot of time. However, I feel I can get back up on the horse and finish what I started.

• I'm going to be opening what I have so far to a public beta. This will consist of stock maps ONLY.
• The title is going to be changed to avoid confusion with SWBF3 Legacy. Given it is the 20th anniversary of SWBF1 this year, I thought Star Wars: Battlefront - Anniversary Edition would be appropriate.
• Once the beta period is complete and feedback is addressed, I'll be releasing it as-is - the SWBF2 maps will be added in as addon packs ALA SWBFES later.
