Battlebelks resolution changer supports widescreen monitors by increasing FOV, so I think the answer is yes there is a way.
Here is the mod for widescreen

I'm in no way as skilled as our modders but I believe theres a line you can modify in the sides odf files.

In the unit ODF change these lines
FirstPersonFOV = "70"
ThirdPersonFOV = "65"Make the number larger for greater FOV distance.
I am new to modding. Where do I got to change the FOV? Please provide exact file names, locations, and/or any tools required.

Well, unless u hexedit it i dont think u're gonna find any other way to get FOV changed lol
