Title: New HUD for SWBF2

I personally have no experience with writing mods at all or anything of the sort.  Personally, I've always been a fan of SWBF1 (probably pure nostalgia) over SWBF2, but I love the amount of content people produce for the latter. Even with all this content the SWBF2 HUD drives me up a wall.  Is the a way someone could write a mod to possible replace the SWBF2 HUD with the cleaner HUD from SWBF1 or a custom one all around? Or if there are any HUD mods someone could point me in the right direction to; it would be greatly appreciated.

The Unofficial v1.3 patch for BF2 comes with a new HUD, and also lots of mod support: http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/file/Unofficial_Star_Wars_Battlefront_II_v13_Patch;95418

I'm already using the 1.3 patch but I disabled the giant blue blocks behind the standard HUD because it only made it clunky.  I was really hoping to find something along the lines of a mod that carried over the HUD from SWBF to SWBF2.

Not possible as HUD positioning and elements are hardcoded in both games IIRC.

The Republic Commando Mod was able to do it and I know of someone whom is already doing what your suggesting. Only problem is I know this particular modder is working on other projects so chances are you wont see something like that for a while.
