Title: Frozen MacBook
Post by: Duke Leto on July 29, 2009, 03:57:12 PM
On February 11th, my hard drive crashed.  It was unresponsive, and then I decided to shut it down.  It would not restart after that.  Now, I am in a similar situation (oddly enough, the same Winnie the Pooh cd is in the cd drive as last time.  How can I force eject the cd, or what else can I do?  GAH I am so sad.

1. Turn of Computer
2. Press Power button
3. As soon as you hear the sound click AND HOLD both muse buttons (or just one if on lPatop)
4. Keep holding till it ejects.

Cheers!

If Da BomB's advice doesn't work, have a look at the website Schtick posted, it's an interesting way to sort it easily if the mouse click doesn't work.

Well if you look at the link Bomb, you'll find it isn't a foolproof way of fixing it, as it doesn't always work. Get the facts correct, I don't wanna hear a misinformed opinion.

I see no reason why the link's suggestion should cause any damage in a situation like this. As long as the cardboard is above the disk, the worst that could happen is have a damaged Winnie the Pooh disk (and who wouldn't want that :P).

Also, not sure if the MacBooks have this, but ye olde CD drives have a little hole that if you stick a paper clip into the disk will manually eject.
