All my screenshots have turned into TGA files and are impossible to view. What the heck? The weirder thing is its SWBF, SWBF2 and another game, not my RepCom, any solutions?
IrfanView can open TGA files

I use gimp to edit them but this app lets you quickly look at TGA screenshots.
Hmm... I may download that if thats my only option. But how on earth did all my screenies get turned into a whole different file type?

Um, I seriously doubt any of your screen shots have ever been anything but Targa files.
Unless you have the 1 game in the whole world that does that.
huh, then i have viewed TGA files, but now it wont let me? :hmm:
Perhaps, you uninstall some programm, which let you see the tga's...
Screenshots, can be saved, as JPG, with Fraps, I guess...

Possible, I did some unistalling recently, maybe I accidentally uninstalled something like that. But only if a program like that came with a 2005 windows XP, I never downloaded anything that would enable me to view different files.
Try this maybe ? http://www.zamzar.com/
Im not very interested in downloading anything, I just want whatever is happen(ed?)ing doing this to stop, I play around with files a lot so I don't any more TGAed
When you save screenshots in battlefront (using it's screenshot functions, not xfire or whatever other game addon thingies folks use) it is saved as a tga, not only by default, but it's the ONLY format SWBF saves screenshots. It's been like that since the wrapper came off.
By default, windows xp doesn't read or preview tga files. Nor does paint.
You had to have something if you were seeing SWBF screenshots. Either a program that was saving them for you (outside of SWBF) or a viewer to read the ones SWBF made.

The default place for XP is:
"C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\ScreenShots"
for other os's:
"wherever_you_installed_battlefront\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\ScreenShots"

is it different for windows 7?
It should be in the GameData folder.
The same place the AddOn folder lives.
If you have not used the in-game screenshot function before, then the folder may not have been created yet.
The default key for taking screenshots ingame is "p", I believe.
iv tried that, and i knew it worked because my game froze for a second, but the only thing in that folder is addon. i dont even know why thats there.
It might just be my computer but I know imgur doesn't like screenshots directly from the game, so I take screenshots with the Mac key combo. Then I can upload them fine.
ಠ_ಠ
AddOn is where you install all the custom maps folks have been making.
And there should at least be a "Data" folder because thats where the actual game files are.
-edit
Anyone with Windows 7 here that knows where the Screenshots folder lives?
I've never touched win7 so I don't know how bad MS messed up the file system on it.

I have no clue why but that made me laugh.
Some windows people have game data stuff in program files (x86)
But there isnt a screenie folder In there either
Well.. one way to find it..
Get in game and take a bunch of random screenshots.
Then use windows' search feature to find files on the drive SWBF is installed named "screenshot_*.tga"
Wherever it finds them is where it's saving them.
Im making a new topic for this.
I just realized what I deleted... I guess picasa was somewhat useful.

:slap: Yeah, Picasa is pretty useful. I myself have never used it, but I assume it's used to view targa and .svg files, right?

Yeah, to bad I learned that AFTER I deleted it. I hated picasa and my PC wanted me to delete something, so I chose Picasa. Guess I should find out how to get it now... :td:
I run Windows 7 and I remember finding them one time.. It wasn't in the usual ProgramFiles thing though. Look in ProgramData/Lucasarts instead of ProgramFiles and look around in the SWBF folders.
Uh, I have windows 7, and I don't see any Program data...
There is Program Files(x86)/ and ProgramFiles/ both of which have a lucas arts folder as well as SWBF.
Have you check compatibility file in the x86 gamedata folder?
