I preffer cats becuase they don't drool, make loud noises, they cuddle, and actually do something useful; hunt mice that take over your home.

Dogs protect the house.... They eat those filthy cats too.

Unfortunately, we have 3 cats in our home, all of which get hair all over the place and scratch things up.

I prefer dogs. They weren't given the title "man's best friend" for nothing.

I vote neither since I dislike both, I much prefer goats.

Surely cats! You may create real friend relationship with them.

Dogs, will be always thinking, you are just a leader of the pride, and have to wait for your orders... If your dog is big enough, it may become want to be a leader, and start  give orders to you :o.

Cats, never think, about you, as about another cat. If you lithen them carefully, you may notes, they speak with you, by different "cat langage", then with other cats. This mean, they know, you are a human, and they stay with you, only because they like you, not because of instinct... Or maybe they like some cat food, you got for them ;).

Can't vote.. I like em all.

Both have undesirable behaviors at times, but you can't condem an entire species just cause one pee'd on a rug or shredded a chair leg. Pets are great.  You invite them into your family and get to watch them grow with you.

Goats are awesome.. especially kids. They climb on everything.

Cats for sure.  Dogs are too high maintenance.  I have three cats that are more independent and less needy than one dog.  Other than keeping the litter box clean and their food and water filled, they take care of them selves.  They could even be left for days on end when on vacation.  Dogs on the other hand need a lot more attention.

:td: My dog is a golden retreiver and Australian shepard mix, and she is as dumb as a rock. While my cat is a great hunter who has probs killed 75+ chipmunks, not including moles or mice.

My cat sits around and does nothing but eat sleep and poo behind my mom's guitar case all day long..
She even gave us flees once, until we finally kicked her out XD, on the other hand, I do not like dogs at all (at least not enough to own one).

I have enough animals to clean up after already, so no thanks :P  (animals being my siblings)

Well, I like both :) but I have to say that I like dogs more because I have one, yet turtles are still my fav  :)

I have 2 of each. I prefer cats around the house because they're less annoying when they jump on you but dogs are more useful as sheepdogs, gun dogs and guide dogs. I haven't seen a cat do any of those things although my cat once brought a squirrel through the window with it. :)

I'm allergic to cats  :'(

Oh! Aviary types are great too, especially Geese.

Dogs all the way, although I have nothing against cats.

I personally am a cat lover, have had my cat since I was about 4. Declawed in the front, has had all the shots, etc. Skinny and finicky like heck about food, but I still love my cat. :D

There is no breed of cats cooler than the Maine Coon. They are very friendly and loving. And look at how cute they are as kittens.

Dogs, just because i dont know really, but still dogs.

Maine Coons are so awesome, they are the smartest cat breed too.

Yeah, that was my dog  :'( He passed of cancer when he was 3. He was sick for some time before we found out, he was always loyal and happy, even though he was dying  :'( His name was Boaz

I don't have time to take my dog's pic today but ill edit it tommorow or another time with her pic. :) Just thought since everyone else was I should too :)

Now to hunt my cat and put the flash option on to scare her onto a photo. She always hides at night, and I can never find her...  :dry:

Eh, I'l try and get a pic of her tomorrow, tired anyway. :P

Adopted from a rescue agency that found her in a wet cardboard box.
All the kittens had eye infections of some sort and Seiko had a lung infection.

Right as rain, now.

I love the colors on tortise shells, calicos, and even the merled dogs (bleu merles, border collies, all the various shepherds.)

I love Border Collies.  I've never met a more intelligent animal than my in-law's goat herding dogs.

Also, I think indoor cats outlive the common dog anyway. My grandma had her cat for nearly 20 years I believe, before it died.

That's my cat Scout, we are in a constant battle of seniority. The battle of which he always wins with the females of my family  :wall: Just look at his eyes... so devilish  :rant:

Most are evil, I agree, but lots of them are cute and nice.

And that's not to say that bad cats aren't good for anything :D

Agreed. It is often stated though that male cats are more vicious than emale ones. :P

Cats will only become lazy if you confine them to the indoors. They will act differently depending on how you treat them as they get older. Like any adaptable creature, minor experiences can change how the act for life.

If you raised them right they'll like to explore, hunt, and will still have energy to play with you when they return home. My cat Sam catches squirrels, Tulula or Fuzzy likes to eat butterflies and moths, and Miley or Tiger enjoys climbing the fence or being on anything high above the ground.

As for dogs. I was scared of the large ones when I was younger. But now I absolutely love them! They are a wonderful product of evolution! The small ones on the other hand...they'd die if humans were not around.

While pets may be extremely fun to be around, they are no replacement for human friends. Most animals lack the cognitive abilities to show complex emotions and have a very limited range of communication. (It's fun to imagine they do though) When people train them and they react to commands, the animal will only hear the sound, not the word, they couldn't comprehend such things.

We have both. The cats (2) are somewhat lazy and the dog is always sleeping or has lots of energy. Dogs are a lot more effort to look after but IMO you get a more satisfying result ^^
