Title: soldiers as vehicles

Is it possible for a soldier model to be used as a vehicle? 

i.e. if i want to be a sniper, but am a rocket unit, can I "jump" into a sniper vehicle and use that unit like a sniper?

I have thought about this before, and I think it could be possible given you setup the animation banks right. However you would probably only be able to have one weapon on it if you didn't want it to look goofy. Since you would mostly likely have to hex edit the weapon model on and you would only be able to have one shooting animation.

I am imagining a hall of statues that are really soldier/vehicles. (Rhen var style)

Players spawn as 'ghosts' with transperant meshes, and have minimal(if any) weapons, and must 'possess' the statues to ??? (profit)

You are right, I bet animations would be a pain.
Still sounds super cool.

Perhaps if the player used a transparent model then it could be a poltergeist possession sort of thing.
