It says here ( http://www.GameRanger.com/games/pcmac/ ) that gameranger supports cross platforms. Does that mean macs and pcs can play together on swbf through gameranger!? If that's so why don't we have a gameranger server for swbfgamers?
Here ( http://www.GameRanger.com/support/faq/ ) it says that cross platforming supports both pc and Mac gaming. Does someone want to do an experiment? Like a oc gets gameranger and host a game then I try to join? Tommorow?

It doesn't support cross platform for SWBF. Never figured out why. You simply get the error "Version Mismatch" if you try. Perhaps they'll fix it one day.
Is that was because most Macs don't use 1.2?

Not at all, most do/did.
Had a go just now with KitFisto but couldn't get it to work with PC or Mac hosting. Interestingly Gameranger seems to connect through a LAN server not the usual internet server screen so maybe there's a clue there...
When I tried to join gdh's game I said join then I chose my profile, then it said "joining in 1, 2, etc." once it got to 60 the screen went away and nothing happened so i just quit.
