Title: HELP WANTED: New mission file mod for SWBF

I was chatting with Mod Tester, and we discussed that if we can make a new mission mod file that players could download, we could do a lot of interesting things, such as rebs vs rebs and such *in the same server* as standard games, and things like no-cap CC maps.


I propose that we discuss what we want to have in two new mission mods.





1) mission mod 1:  cloud city only--every variation we can think of

For example
here is a video i made with CPs inverted and it loads Endor units on CC

2) mission mod 2:  other maps

the only requirement is that other than a mission.lvl file, no other player downloads are required.


Any thoughts on what you would like to see?

ok, with further discussions, the next question is:

can a mod map call a new mission file?  (so that the original mission does not get messed with)



for example, everyone downloads one mod map and with in it is just the file:
new-mission.lvl

inside the new mission file are multiple calls to all the stock maps, or server side modded stock maps

Thats a bit challenging to do. Is it possible to have the mission.lvl on the server side be the one that ends up being used?

If I understand what you mean, then I think yes, the modded server could have the mission file replaced directly.

All of your suggestions would work, but I also don't know how to force players to a specific side in multiplayer.  I would be very interested in knowing if that could actually work.

Server side--side.lvl mods work work too, like unit speed adjustments and things.
