The sign up thread for next weeks match has been posted!
The current map pool discussion will continue till next Sunday then a decision will be made...so have you're say!
The_Pi had to pull out last min and thankfully MacG stepped up to host! It is important to let us know if you can host when signing up, in case this sort of thing happens again! Also I see a pile of extra players, which is great numbers wise but randoms vastly effect the scoring (always to you're detriment). Have a look at the score sheets for the last match and see how it effects things! It is hard to determine any meaningful quantification or trends in the scores when random players come and go. The league format and scoring is set up so that if players miss games the only forfeit is that the other players have a chance to get higher scores (part of the reason why there are bots) as the match may be quieter!
We still need to tighten up the entry to the match. Again latecomers are welcome but the need to:
1. be registered here, and at thisiswar (and understand how things work).
2. 'check in' first via the thisiswar forum by posting in the match thread before the game.
3. confirm in the lobby what team they are in (join whatever team has the lesser players otherwise Team A).
I think for this coming game the server should be passworded. If the host lets me know what the password is I can put it on the TiW site so that only registered league players can see it. Alternatively I can PM it to all the league players.
Is everyone ok with this or do you guys prefer a free for all?
Let's do a free for all, I'm up for something new.
lol, A free for all is just a game, you can join any server and do that, it's not really anything new!
just let everyone play and let eveyone see there scores on mpc. just dont let them see it in the league on TIW
Possible for me.
i can't make this week, ill be in virginia.
Who's Virginia?
Virginia is part of the U.S. (one of the states)

You were thinking the perverted way, right? It's okay, hahahaha.
Have fun in Virginia Hardcore!

This is too great for words.
Well if i was going to be anywhere, i'd rather it be here then some other state!
The draws have been uploaded and can be viewed on the thisiswar site!
We are still looking for someone to host? Any volunteers?
I will host if nobody else can! I'll post details a bit later if needed!
if there is nobody who can host I CAN host, but beware it might crash. I put a new fan on my GPU last night, and it booted up without any problems, but when I let SPTest run overnight with Endor set to invincible and infinite reinforcements, the card crashed, but the driver reset it without a full reboot, but SPTest did crash as well.
dude that would be fantastic if you could....
I'll leave you too it and hopefully everything will go to plan! Thanks again Pi
Alright, lets get this ready
IP: 67.241.11.157
MPC Ventrillo server is still up, so if people get on it I'll announce the match start from there
Please be on XFire/GR (whichever applies to you) if you cannot be on Vent so I can tell you it's up. Also if someone could advertise on GR that would be great (maz1 and standards). The server will be up no later than 7:55. GL to all, and please don't blame me if the game crashes (my GPU might crash but be reset from the drivers, but last time it happened it pulled SWBF down with it).
and server is up since I see some of you sitting around waiting for the match
Good game, people. Thanks for hosting, Pi.
Thanks for playing all. Screenshots are here http://www.xfire.com/screenshots/iknowpi/ (http://www.xfire.com/screenshots/iknowpi/)
I'll let dresh do scores since I'm a bit confused with the scoring system
Thanks very much for hosting Pi. It due to ppl like you willing to help out that stuff like this league is possible! I will post example of the scoring to help clarify it, if you don't get it then I'm sure others dont get it as well! I can export the spreadsheet to a website and stick it up so you can see how I do it too (not any math for me cos the sheet does it for me!)
anyhoo, I have posted the scores on the TiW site for all to see!
Thanks again Pi!
PS. The sign up thread for next weeks match is up!

Is there a particular problem with not having 4 rounds yet? I have been busy and will have to miss the next one too

.
Yes and No Zorba. With low scores it is not as important but it is with high scores.
For instance...a player plays 1 round and gets a stonking score. His computer then crashed and he doesn't rejoin the match. His average (as it is divided only by 1) would be really high and unfair on the other players who have had a few games and a more 'realistic' average.
I feel that if I put in any player who has not played 4 scoring rounds I would need to add in all players who don't have 4 rounds played, which may be to the disadvantage of regular players.
Darnit sorry I missed this one. I just forgot.
I'll make the fifth!
