A member of the Valve staff has confirmed that steam WILL NOT be ported to Linux. Ever.

also, more mac market share news from valve.

At launch mac reported around a 11% market share. now it is around 5%. some people claim its because of a buggy client on the mac side but i just assume it is because people wanted to get back to their PCs games.

discuss.

The mac port of Steam and its source games were downright buggy at launch. The only reason I used it was to get the TF2 earphones.

After that, I went back to using it on Windows 7. I find the Source Engine to run terribly on Mac OS X. It's only playable once I turn most of the settings down. It runs far better in Windows.

As for the linux port, it's not really needed thanks to Wine.

The average Linux user is a fanboy of free, open-source software.

That's why it contributes to virtually none of the computer OS market, nothing is free.

Those lollipops came from the taxes that mommy and daddy paid.
