Technically illegal to give it to other people, however it's not a huge piracy issue if you plan to donate the copy to someone else when you buy a newer version.

You cannot remove your license however you can delete the preference file that stores it in your computer  (but that doesn't do anything productive.)

The key word here is upgrade. If you are just buying the upgrade from Office 2008 to 2010, then it would be illegal to give your 2008 discs to someone else. If you are buying a full version of Office 2010, then I don't see why you couldn't give away your Office 2008 discs that you legally purchased.

by upgrade i mean buy full version.

@Schtick My dilemma isn't wether it is legal, it is how i can take the license off.

If you buy the program generally what is you get is a
Email/Name: like email@domainname.com or Your name.
Serial: SQV1-5746-****-****-**** (something like that)

Anyway, if this is what you mean, no you can not change the name that the Product Key is registered to.

i bought it at a store.

i came home and installed it.

the setup asked me to put in my info and register product.

I did it.

Now i wanna unregister it so i can give to another person after i buy 2010.

Does that clarify my question?
