Title: key code authorization
Post by: Soap Mactavish on March 10, 2010, 01:48:35 PM
Often when i am trying to connect to a server i will get a message saying:
Awaiting connection 10....
Then just below it i will get, in yellow font, awaiting key code authorization. I am not able to connect without authorization but the message wont go away even tho the game is legit. This error is on and off for me and it occurs on both call of duty 4 and 2 when i try to connect. PLZ HELP

A FREE COKE TO WHOEVER SOLVES THIS.

I'm assuming you're on a computer of some sort? XD

I would reinstall/install the games. Or try refreshing your internet connection. I'd start off with that.

This often happens, server wise i think you can set it to check the CD key thats what the yellow text is from. And the problem is likely in ether connections to these servers, if they fail or it fails to find the Cd Key, it can happen.

yes but it seems to be universal to all servers. If i get this message on one server i get it on all of them.

Lol quick, i think i can figure that much out.

Lol. I was just suggesting. But this happens in all games just so you know.

Stupid anti-piracy measures....

See if you got any firewalls installed (there's maybe like one or two for OSX) since they'll prevent the cd key info from being sent.

Other than that, you might be using a different user. I am not mistaken, cd keys are stored in the user library and if you are using a different user, it can't find it. If it was stored in the main library, make sure you're admin and you got admin permissions to cod2/4.

The last two possible causes I can think of are that your internet has some odd interference with the servers or you got cod 4 and 2 keys from someone else (or someone stole it from your laptop).

Off the top of my head(that means I'm unsure):
/Library/Application Support/com.aspyr.callofduty4.plist

OR

/Users/yournamehere/Library/Application Support/com.aspyr.callofduty4.plist

If you open it with a texteditor (better yet, the plist editor included in the sdk) then you should see your cd key. Change it if needed.
