Chat problems

I have a problem in game where occasionally opening the chat box causes a random key to keep typing, so 'hi all' becomes '6h666i66a666ll6' i had thought is was just my pc but I've seen a few other people have the same problem. Restarting the game fixes it. Is there a known cause for this?

U know if I could, I will help u.
(Once I was in 1.0 my keyboard had problems and it said amazing nonsenses, so I bought a new Keyboard.)
But if it is a problem which everybody have, I have no idea, sorry :/

I've had this problem once before and found that pressing ctrl + alt + delete and then typing something will fix it.

However, with me, I think it was the number 8 (I've never seen it occur with a letter).

I've never had it with a letter but I've seen someone have it with a . , my guess is it's something to do with alt tabing in and out or using xfire similar to the glitch in xfire where everything you type becomes symbols (pressing ctrl fixes xfire).

what worked for me was alt+tab out of the game then alt+tab back in

also check you mouse and keyboard drivers to see if they are up to day.  I had this problem, too, until I went to a gaming mouse.
