How would I go about hex editing? I've never done it before.
I downloaded this hex editor: http://ridiculousfish.com/hexfiend/
Is this the right type of thing I need?

Did u have this problem when u had the Gameshare patch ?
I don't think so but I honestly can't remember. I know that I was able to play online at one point after the server shutdown. Which patch it was I can't remember.

Hey guys, the SWBF Spy patches do not appear to work for me (I feel like they did at one point but I honestly can't recall).

SWBF1: I can see the server list but when I click to join I get an endless joining screen with the counting.

SWBF2: As soon as I try and join my game crashes. No error message or anything.

I am using my Mac port.
http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=7627.0
I'm not sure if this patch is even compatible with it (I don't see why it wouldn't be).

Yay! I'm glad to hear it!
As far as making the loading times less, I'm not sure. Show me a picture of what you have in your _lvl_pc folder, if there's anything unnecessary thats in there from the various installs we had to do to get DT2 on there I'll let you know so you can remove them. My maps take about a min to load and I'm on a 2014 MacBook Air.
What computer are you on?

As far as playing online you can try using SWBF Spy. It won't work for me but you might have some more luck.

You can play online through LAN though with someone else in your local wifi network who has the game. The mods you can play online as long as someone else has the mods too.

Yay! I'm glad to hear it! Hopefully you love DT2 as much as I do! (I've had the mod for years, still play it on the regular)

Here's another link for Marvel4's (excellent) conversion pack. It says you have to register for the site, I couldn't find any straight up download links, sorry. (I have to say this conversion pack is also a permanent on my SWBFII copy, I play those maps all the time)

Let me know if that works for you.
I've updated the link in the video as well.

Also, the mistake I made was at the very beginning and it is something that you mention throughout the entire video... make sure you run EVERYTHING in wine into the same place.  All of the mods went to the same place, but not the actual game.
Haha yeah I figured as much. It's an easy step to miss but if not followed, basically ruins everything.

I'm happy to help!
Also as an aside idk if you still have the "BDT" folder in your _lvl_pc folder but you can delete that. Just don't delete anything in your addon folder.
Ok hopefully this will solve it. I've attached the contents I believe you need.

Take all the contents in the download and place it in your "_lvl_pc" folder. Replace all the contents.

That should fix it!
#67
Ok I think it's best if you just delete everything and start fresh haha. You almost have it but it'll be easier and your computer won't have as many files on it. Basically if you can run the vanilla game you're good. It's just the process of getting the files in the right spot.

NOTE: You don't have to delete the port itself. Just the "Lucasarts" folder with all the game contents.

So follow the instructions in this video of installing the normal game (which it looks like you know how to do since you got it working before).

Then skip to 10:10 where I go through how to install DT2 and the 1.3 patch. Make sure you left the vanilla game in the folder you're running Wine too so it installs it all correctly for you. Then keep watching as I install the 1.3 patch. Make sure your file directory looks like how mine does in the video.

It should work for you after that. Let me know if it doesn't.

This is how your map selection screen should appear (minus the non-DT maps, those are just other addon maps I have).

This is how the Galactic Conquest menu should look.

Hope that helped.

Hey! I'm glad you're trying out DT2, it's such a good mod!

It looks like you have the old 1.3 patch installed I believe. I would go ahead and install this version and replace the AAA folder, we'll see if that solves your problem. Don't worry replacing the AAA add-on folder won't change anything about DT2 (it looks like you have that installed correctly).

Be sure to replace not only the new AAA add-on folder, but also the files in the new data/_lvl_pc folder.

Let me know if that fixes it!

Also the new camping is accessed through Galactic Conquest, your screenshots were too small for me to see if you have that already or not.

SWBF1 Modding / Re: [WIP] Naboo: City of Theed

This is beautiful! Exactly what I've always wanted from a Theed Hanger map, the SWBFII left some things to be desired. I can't wait for this map to be released!

I'm really happy you got it to work!

In my tutorial video of how to install the game on your mac I outline how to install 3 different mods, the ones I play pretty much every time I play SWBFII.

The 1.2 Skin patch mod upgrades the look of the skin without losing the ability to play online with those those who don't have it. They look great.

The Dark Times II mod is the greatest mod for SWBFII and anyone who's played it will probably agree. New game modes, new campaign, new sides, new maps. It really is one of the best mods for SWBFII I 100% recommend. I've been playing it for a few years now.

The conversion pack mod is alright, it has it's fair share of issues. It causes the game to crash and the sides are sub-par. For this reason I use Marvel4's conversion pack which is simply add-on maps. It doesn't add a whole lot of data to your game and you can remove maps you don't want. They are all stock sides but each map has hero assault if you like that game mode. Plus the maps look way more similar to their SWBFI counterparts.

Those 3 mods I show how to install on your game in the video.

Don't worry about asking questions, we're here to help you. Everyone wants to play SWBF!

Ok so forget about wine. You no longer need it to install the base game. You have everything you need, you simply need to place the right folders in the right spot. Heres a step by step:

1) Create a folder called "Lucasarts"
2) Place the folder "Star Wars Battlefront II" inside the "Lucasarts" folder you just created.
3) Delete everything inside the folder "Star Wars Battlefront II" except for the "GameData" folder. You do not need these files (delete the files titled "Install", "Movies" and "Update 1_1.txt" )
4) Right click on the "Star Wars Battlefront II" port (the one with the picture of the clone trooper)
5) Navigate: Contents - Resources - transgaming - c_drive - Program Files
6) Place the folder titled "Lucasarts" inside the "Program Files" folder
7) Launch the game and play!

The "working" file isn't part of it that's my mods stuff.
Ok! Easy! You already have the game files you just need to place them in the port.
So in the video skip to about 4 mins. If you don't want any mods just place the specified folder in the video in the port and launch the game! Everything should work fine. :)

I have 10.11.6.  A pic of the flash drive contents are attached.  I copied all of the contents on to my desktop.  I would appreciate any help at all.  I am already impresssed with this comunity and it is only my first day.
Inside the gamedata folder do you have these items except for the "working" folder?
(screenshot attached)

Hey, what Mac OS are you running and what exactly is on your flash drive that you have the battlefront 2 files in?
I'll try to help you as best I can but tbh I'm not sure if my video works for newer Mac software as I have yet to test it out (I'm planning on doing it during winter break).

Also, WB Kit.
I lurk here and there just to see if Sereja has released any cool new maps.  ;)
