SWBF1 Modding / Re: [WIP] Naboo: City of Theed

Just tested it and as always the design and sides are excellent!! I had an absolute blast and it feels like it's straight out of the films!! As someone who loves The Phantom Menace it's nice to see so much love and care poured into the details of the map! I could really go on for days about how much I love it! It'll be a map I play quite a lot (just like all your others)!

As far as bugs go I only found one.
The clone pilot's first person view has droid hands.

I agree with Gistech about raising the Republic reinforcements, no more than 50 should do the trick.

I also agree with Gistech about adding something in the main courtyard to provide cover and make it look a bit less dull. I think some simple crates should do the job! If you want to be real fancy, destroyed AATs, Naboo speeders or maybe even a downed AT-AT or AT-TE would be awesome!
This is the area I'm talking about.

Not sure if this is intentional but the Naboo Guard rifle has the same sound as the E-11 blaster.

Also this is me being suuuuper nitpicky but the CIS starts off the match inside the palace, I'd think it'd be reversed since they are invading.

I remember reading that you initially had an AT-AT in the map, I felt that having some sort of mobile CP would have spiced up the exterior battle a lot more.

Having an AT-TE (for the Empire like you do in Felucia) and the MTT would really add another dimension to the map, if it's still possible to add that.

If not, perhaps having heavier vehicles like Spider Walkers, AT-STs, AT-XTs, and Rebel Tanks can add a bit more vehicle action to the map.

Also I appreciate this small touch of light rays! It makes that rotunda so much more beautiful!!

And you're my hero for adding in the Handmaidens as playable characters! They were so much fun to play as and people often forget how cool they are in Legends.

I can't wait for the final release, it's sure to be a blast!
As always Sereja you make me never want to play another game except SWBFI!  :tu:

Yes Sereja's maps are filled with magic! Gameplay and level design wise!!

I have found an Easter egg, at the end of the above video, but still not your profile pic.  :P

I have never found his profile picture in any of his maps, has anyone ever found them?
They've got to be very well hidden cause I play his maps all the time!

Sereja I just want you to know that I'm not too excited for EA's SWBF2 but I'm VERY EXCITED for your Theed!! I literally check this almost every day to see if it's closer to release! It's worth the wait I'm sure.

It'd be cool as far as extra mission.lvls to have B1 Battle Droids and Droidekas VS Naboo guards. That way you don't have to choose cause I like the idea of Naboo Guards VS Empire but also classic Clones VS Droids.

The part of the single player we saw at the end of the trailer confirms some of the previous theories, that the emperors final orders were kept inside of a body with his face on. (As seen in the trailer)
If you're interested in this check out Marvel's Shattered Empire which had the first appearance of the Messenger Droids and a set of orders that the comic follows.

I have a theory that they simply haven't finished many more heroes than Rey and Maul, and their hands were forced a little since they needed to show some evidence of heroes.
I hope so. I haven't seen very many people online happy with the cross era heroes. I'm hoping they take the hint and take that out of the game before it's final release. That shouldn't be anything more than a coding issue as they wouldn't have to make new models or get voice actors or anything.

Here's an alternate link: https://vimeo.com/221073225

I'm caustiously optimistic. It looks wonderful and I love all the voice acting. However gameplay modes, replay-ability  and single player content will be the deciding factor for me. I'm sososososo glad they have CW though!

I'm also not too happy about the cross era heroes. Kind of breaks the idea of playing an actual battle from the films/TV shows.
My guess is they have cross era heroes because they lack sufficient numbers of heroes to do era specific.
Like they don't want to make an Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Mace Windu, Cpt. Rex etc. so they just throw in Han Solo which they already have and that cuts down the number of heroes in the game altogether.

This is the port, which uses Cider(as the other one on the website uses WINE).Has regular loading speeds, as apposed to wine, and multiplayer works (for me).http://portingteam.com/files/file/8333-star-wars-battlefront-2/

PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR BOTH WINE AND THIS PORT(Man I love that word)YOU WILL NEED A NO-CD CRACK/PATCH.

You will also require WINE to install the game, from which you can move the game files to the port.

Remember to place the port in applications as it won't save a bit then.I recommend using an application caled PlayOnMac (linux as well)to install as it is way easier to work with.Or you can use the installer app that came with the SWBF1 port that you hosted (should work, as it installs certain wine tricks and libraries when you start up the app).
I don't think this is the real issue with why I can't join the Battlefront 2 servers.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the no-cd patch effects the LaunchBFII.exe which you do not need to play Battlefront 2 if you have the cider port.
I do not even have my LaunchBFII.exe in my cider port because it is not needed to play.
Does swbfspy attempt to communicate with LaunchBFII.exe?

Maybe this was posted before I saw you in the server?

Here is some information about mac hosts files
https://www.google.com/search?q=mac+hosts+file&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
Sorry for the confusion I'm talking about SWBFII.
SWBFI works fine for me now.

You should try modifying your hosts file instead of using the edited EXE files.
Hmm ok I have not tried that. How would I go about doing that?

(for reference I can see the servers on both my hex edited BattlefrontII.exe as well as the one you can download here however I can't join any servers as my game crashes. I was able to get to the loading screen once then it said connection to host lost)

Porting team also has a 2 ports for SWBF 2.They may have long loading times but you can play online(tried) using the SWBFspy exe.(Don't forget to rename it!)
Which port is this because SWBFspy has not worked for me with SWBFII no matter what I try.
(nor does it work for SWBFI for me either)
Right after I posted this I tried out SWBFI online and now it works fine lol
I have no idea why I wasn't able to join any servers for months but now I'll see ya all on the servers!

Hey Kit, how do you play SWBF port without the cd in?My Cd Drive broke long ago on my mac and been using an external drive(which doesn't work most of the time...).It's becoming quite a hassle and it would certainly be awkward to get a no-cd crack folder for a legitimate copy of the game...
Hey, I'd install it on a friends computer (that's what I have to do now) and transferring the files you need.
That or borrow someones external CD drive.
I don't recommend pirating the game in any way.

Not sure if you're talking about the SWBFI version but here's a link to it. Maybe you have an older version of the map or something?

I still can't believe the amount of awesome that is in all of Sereja's maps!
I just want you to know that you make my expectations for map design and faithfulness to the films on another level, EA doesn't know they're totally beat.

I've just realised Imperial X1 looks quite similar to a character in the Poe Dameron comics.
Either it's a coincidence, or dead SWBF3 content is still being referred to in-house over at Lucas Arts, either way... neat!
Wait which character is that?

The hex editor you recommended was for windows only but the one I have appears to work.

I'll just edit the original BattlefrontII.exe that came with the game.
Where exactly are the directions for what to change?
I don't really understand what the directions are right here...
