Title: Christmas/New Year's Discussion
Post by: Gold Man on December 03, 2013, 10:54:50 AM
Hey guys, figured I'd throw this up there. I know it's only 3 days into December, but I'm wondering, anyone want to share stuff they're doing for Christmas or New Years? Just figured it'd be a good way to get into the holiday cheer. :D

I'l go first:

I'm getting seasons 1-5 of The Clone Wars for Christmas! :D I don't have any plans for Christmas, just chill and have my grandparents over (like usual). As for New Years, drink some champagne at midnight. :)

(And no, I'm not posting this to show off my new Christmas themed avatar or name.) :P

I grew up (I guess I still am) in the working poor. There's no such thing as asking for I want for Christmas, even when I was a kid.

However that's not stopping me from celebrating every year. :)

Well, seems my mom, spent a lot of time in garden this year. So, we got few barrels of my family vine, for testing. It's very looks like champagne, but much more stronger, I guess...
I am not sure, if I may got anything for Christmas, but this will be a very fun celebration for sure...

I asked for a cravat because I'm a gentleman.

I'll vainly hope for snow this year, though it's bound to turn up next January and cause some kind of national crisis.

Apparently amazon thinks I should get a monocle. I don't think I'm quite that far gone.

What I do for Christmas and New Years? Well I do the regular blah blah blah on Christmas. Snacks, open presents, watch a movie. Pretty much it. After Christmas I go to my Grandma's house in Iowa. After a day or two there, I spend the day with all my relatives (I have lots) at my uncle's house. There we have a Grab (If you don't know what it is, look it up) where last year I almost got a dirt bike. (Darn) There are Snacks, sometimes a movie, football, "mature" teens that go out and shoot at targets, and talking.

What I want for Christmas?

Grid 2
Mercenaries 2: WiF
Forza Horizons
Midnight Club LA Complete Edition

All on Xbox 360.

I have had no none video game presents for a while now...                     but I am looking for a video game chair and an Xbox 360 steering wheel. Not for Christmas though.

I'll probably spend time with my family and try to do as little work as possible. :)
It would be nice to get some snow just as long as it doesn't go down to -20c/-4F again and I spend the days bucketing water to sheep...
Also I have to have a tree over 6ft even if I have to go out with a chainsaw myself. ;)

I sympathise, it got truly nippy up in the Yorkshire Dales last time.
I didn't have to deal with sheep though, just bus journeys... which are kinda like being stuck with livestock.

All I want for Christmas:

1. A quart of Elbow Grease
2. A bottle of headlight fluid for the Puma

And no, you can't dream things like that (don't you know world peace is the sign of the rapture)

Aye, it is! There's no such thing as world peace! :o

But wanting for Christmas, hmm... Let me jot this all down:

-A new computer (laptop's a piece of crap)
-A Steam Account (need a better computer for that in the first place)
-An untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 (it's seriously impossible to find a jailbreak for that version on the iPhone 4S!)
-A working Cydia alternative (if I can't find the jailbreak for that phone)
-A NERF rifle (yes, I still have that little kid inside me. I never grew up owning a toy gun, that's why I'm obsessed over them. :P)
-My G2 license (I still own a G1, and I can't get it until April [if I take driver's ed of course.] :P)

That pretty much sums up my Christmas list. Not a whole lot compared to what most would like. It's funny how when we're little kids, we have huge Christmas lists, but when we get older there's less and less on them. :P

Paint balls is okay.. Airsoft is awesome, Period.

Nerf.. Isn't that for like, 12 year olds? If it doesn't sting when you get hit by it, it's rubbish.
--
I already have lots of nice little toys, sadly the only things I truely desire cost far too much (several hundred dollars infact), so I would be quite content with nice clothing (I'm happy for whatever I get, it would be rather selfish of me otherwise of course).

Among my dream stuff would be:
Airsoft all wood and metal sniper rifle (Spring, electric just doesn't do for long range.)
GameMaker: Studio Full (Possible, but doubtful. I also don't wish to switch interfaces...)
And a nice Gaming Laptop, which is VERY unlikely to happen anytime soon :P

My Christmas starts on December 8th and it happens again on the 9th. I'm watching the premiere of Madoka Magica 3 in theaters and I'm getting a sweet shirt in the mail (estimated delivery actually) on the 9th. Otherwise, nothing is happening on Christmas. I didn't get anything last year and I don't expect anything this year.

I've always tried very hard not to change my name too much, but it seems it's worn off on me just a tad.
Besides, I can never find anything catchy to change it to.. At least not without just being a cliche..
