SWBF1 Modding / Re: Changing sound memory from 32MB to 256MB
September 23, 2024, 01:30:00 PM
I've split this off, I think it deserves its own topic so everyone can see it
I'd imagine the addresses for each might be a bit different, but the hex values themselves should be the same for the steam version, so you should be able to find them.
Quote from: wsa30h on September 23, 2024, 10:56:55 AMis this for the 1.2 cd and dvd versions ? any chance this might work in the latest steam version ?

Released Maps and Mods / Star Wars: Battlefront - Anniversary Edition RELEASED
September 16, 2024, 11:35:03 PM
It's finally out! Star Wars: Battlefront - Anniversary Edition (formerly known as Star Wars: Battlefront Legacy - not to be confused with Battlefront III Legacy) is a large scale mod for the original Star Wars: Battlefront which pulls inspiration from all corners of the franchise, from the original games to DICE's versions and even from the cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront III.
Download it from the ModDB page
If you downloaded this mod prior to the update released on the 19th, you can download the 1.1 patch to fix certain issues here.
Please note that, owing to compatibility issues regarding LUA and the manner in which addons are handled, the Star Wars: Battlefront - Classic Collection version cannot be used to play this mod. This mod is compatible only with CD/DVD, Steam and GOG versions of Star Wars: Battlefront.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
==========================
Extract all files.
###IMPORTANT: Backup the original Data/_LVL_PC folder and the addon/Tat3 folder###
Before you begin, please remove Tat3 from your Addon folder as this mod comes with its own version.
Copy everything in this folder into your "Star Wars Battlefront/GameData" folder. If you are asked to replace files, click "Yes" or "OK" (or, in Vista onwards "Copy and Replace").

SWBF1 Modding / Crash on certain maps when droids explode on death
September 07, 2024, 02:58:01 AM
I'm encountering a peculiar crash on two of Red04's maps: Utapau and Mygeeto.
If the Droideka explodes, the game immediately crashes. I'm told this might be a collision issue because it has happened in SWBF2 on Mygeeeto as well.
Anybody come across this and found a fix?
EDIT: this issue also occurs with the standard battle droid explosions too.
EDIT 2: investigating further, the compiled versions of these maps are about 4MB lighter than the ones in Red04's addon pack and I can't figure out why - I've not changed anything about Utapau to begin with and the only thing changed on Mygeeto was changing the Bespin AAA turrets to Recoilless turrets.

Gonna have to update this in the near future to include Red04's conversions. I also have a couple to add as well in the near future, mainly fresh conversions of SWBF2 Kashyyyk and Geonosis.

Tomorrow is self-testing for SWBF Anniversary now that all the maps are locked in. After that, I'll see if there's any issues (looking at you, Yoda on Dagobah), try and fix those, then move on to open beta for a week. If that goes well... 17 September, at last, will be the release of this mod.

I expect to have the pre-release beta for SWBF Anniversary done by end of next week. There is literally two maps to go. I expect to release September 17 as planned.
