Does anything work?

I've been working on a mod for the better part of the day with no progress. I was following the documentation that came with the SWBFII Mod Tool VisualMunge but nothing works. The munge in the animation folder doesn't work. The VisualMunge itself doesn't create the .lvl and don't even get me started on .combo and how the documentation glazes over what seems to be a very complicated and important part.

I know people have made mods for this game but I don't see how to make my own since none of the tools I have work... It's very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

That is probably cause u have a 64-bit pc...

start with that--if that does not work, let us know, we may have other suggestions.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet

Yeah, no. That didn't work... _LVL_PC is still empty. My map name doesn't show up in-game, instead its [ABC]%s_%s...

Running windows 10 64-bit. Running all the munging and such using Windows XP service pack 2 compatibility.

Compatibility mode often does not work.  However, you can run XP in hyper-v

see this link for details

http://www.download3k.com/articles/How-to-add-an-XP-Mode-Virtual-Machine-to-Windows-10-or-8-using-Hyper-V-00770

But we should also check to see if anyone has been able to get the SWBF2 mod tools to work with windows 10.  You could also check over at GameToast.com

They have more SWBF2 modders there than we do here.

I am sticking with windows 7, so I can't check it for you.

edit:
here, I think some of the issues are addressed in this thread  at GT
