Six years ago ( ) I released my first ever map, Naboo: Theed Supremacy. I was very happy with how it turned out at the time, but in far more recent times, I decided to revisit a few of my past projects and give them a little update. For Theed, this involved:

• Fixing up barriers and AI planning.
• Fixing up a few buildings.
• Creating custom building 'bases'.
• Adding props to make the map feel more like a lived-in city rather than a collection of buildings.
• Creating custom sides inspired by DICE's SWBF2, using a similar ethos when compared to my DICE demake maps. As we are restricted to 5 classes, I chose to give each faction an aerial unit as their fifth unit.

The map is now in a place where I am very happy with it and am happy to release it.

I think it's more that this forum doesn't have much activity these days. I do get a lot more engagement on the GameToast server.

Clone Trooper is slightly adjusted from Republic Commando with parts from other games. Battle Droid is from SWBF3, Super Battle Droid is from Jedi Challenges, AT-TE is Gogie's AT-TE. Wookie Warrior, TIE Bomber (and TIE Fighter, not shown here) are from TFU. TIE Pilot and Rebel Pilot are from SWBF3.

Been a while, hasn't it? The reason I'm bumping this is I've started working on an 'evolution' of this. In the past couple of months, Dark_Pahtnom has cracked being able to have more high-res units on the field without flipping to lowres. As a result, I've decided to overhaul this one for a bit of fun. It's very WIP right now as I'm still choosing what I would like to update with, but here's a few screenshots.

All models are higher poly than stock, but not DICE-levels - I'm aiming between 4K tris and 6K tris as a ballpark for units. Vehicles are allowed to be higher.

Second post will show some of the Clone Wars shots plus Wookie Warrior and new Rebel Pilot.

Huge props to Shaymin and Surestsafe for getting matchmaking working, now we know how Star Wars: First Assault would have played. It's very Call of Duty-inspired, which would have marked a stark change in direction had the original plan for this to be the 'first step' to Star Wars Battlefront III come to pass.


Star Wars: First Assault was an internally-developed online multiplayer FPS in the same vein as Call of Duty. It was restricted to Galactic Civil War and featured 8v8 infantry combat that encouraged players to form squads rather than going it alone. LucasArts was to release this via the XBox Live Arcade in Spring 2013, with the game planned to be announced in late 2012. The tech demo is all that has leaked out, and it consists of a single map and incomplete weapons (no E-11 at this stage), however the final game would have had more weapons, as well as maps across Tatooine, Bespin, a Star Destroyer interior, and Kashyyyk. It was content-complete and practically ready to go. It was the first step in LucasArts' three-step plan to Battlefront III - the next game would have included vehicles and Jedi Heroes, and Battlefront III would have added space battles and a campaign. However, First Assault's announcement was cancelled after Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012. It was be cancelled altogehter when Disney closed down LucasArts.

Over four years later, I have returned to work on this, looking to make some improvements to the layout and models:

-I'm aiming to add emissive to many of the 'lights' in the level. They won't be true lights since SWBF1 does not have glow, but it should look better
-I've made the droid hall much wider, you no longer can get trapped behind the stairs
-I've built new ramp modules to add some extra verticality and tweaked existing corridor modules so they can fit together more cleanly
-I've added an option to play with stock sides

Work is still ongoing so no ETA yet, this one's a bit more complicated than the Battle of Hoth tweaks (which are pretty much done at this point, expect a release in the near future of that)

It's been over five years since I made this map, and I have decided to return to it and give it a few new touches, including some new modular corridor pieces, additional trenches, balancing and planning tweaks, and a couple of nice new surprises too. I'm also including a 'classic sides' version for those who want to experience this map with the stock sides instead of my own. I have no ETA on this upgrade, but it's coming along nicely so far.

Also that last post is very much an AI-generated response made by dumping this thread into ChatGPT, looking at it. The botscammers think they're being crafty.
