Hey guys, the SWBF Spy patches do not appear to work for me (I feel like they did at one point but I honestly can't recall).
SWBF1: I can see the server list but when I click to join I get an endless joining screen with the counting.
SWBF2: As soon as I try and join my game crashes. No error message or anything.
I am using my Mac port.
http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=7627.0
I'm not sure if this patch is even compatible with it (I don't see why it wouldn't be).

I don't think so but I honestly can't remember. I know that I was able to play online at one point after the server shutdown. Which patch it was I can't remember.
Hmmm, I'd tell u to hexedit the swbf2.exe urself and see if it works or not
How would I go about hex editing? I've never done it before.
I downloaded this hex editor: http://ridiculousfish.com/hexfiend/
Is this the right type of thing I need?

This would be the one I'd recommend, even though in the end they're all for the same purpose.
What u'd have to do is:
1) Run the hexeditor and open the SWBF2.exe file u used (the one that worked before this issue).
2) Read what u actually have to modify (do not replace all the "gamespy" for "swbfspy" as some people tell u to do)
3) Save the file
If u need extra help, I'll record a video which be useful, not only to u but to other mac users.
The hex editor you recommended was for windows only but the one I have appears to work.
I'll just edit the original BattlefrontII.exe that came with the game.
Where exactly are the directions for what to change?
I don't really understand what the directions are right here...

If u don't wanna download our files, you can hexedit the files yourself:
