So for whatever reasons me and my brother decided not to make videos for a bit. But I've recently uploaded Episode 3 gameplay that we did a while back and soon a SWBFII gameplay video will be up!

You can check them out if you would like, and expect more videos in the future since I found out I can upload directly from the iPad on which we film the videos.

Make sure to comment/like And if you really like the videos you could subscribe!  :tu:

Gameplay suggestions are welcomed (if we have the game of course).

General / New Cloud Storage site for SWBF needs?
August 27, 2013, 07:54:32 PM
I had to make an account for school for this cloud storage site called box.com. I think it's worth looking into if you are looking for a cloud based storage to store your files. A free account has a max storage of 10 GB and 250MB max upload size. I know people were having problems with mediafire and that was the popular cloud storage site for a while.

Just check it out but don't blame me if your computer blows up! ;)

Tech Support / [REQUEST] Extract file and reupload
August 24, 2013, 03:48:22 PM
For some reason I can't extract a SWBFII mod map. This has happened before and the only way out is if someone else extracts it, and puts it somewhere where I can download it.

So yea. Could someone pretty please extract, .zip or .rar the map file and reupload it?

It is a SWBFII mod map Teth monastery. Here is the link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/4d6e14xn1t9lope/Battle+of+Teth+%28B%27omarr+Monastery%29+TCW

If you could only play 5 of the stock maps ever again which would they be and why? I added a poll if people just want to vote.

Think about Multiplayer and Singleplayer games... ;)
I would have these 5
Bespin: Cloud City because it is a GREAT map to play agains friends. The close quarters combat is very fun and you can't get a better multiplayer map.

Geonosis: Spire because I love this map in singleplayer. You really feel like you are in a giant battle. Plus the vehicles just make it that much more awesome.

Hoth: Echo Base for some of the same reasons as for Geonosis. I think this map really captivates the movie scene and the gameplay is very fun. Oh and AT-AT's. Come on who wouldn't want to drive those and blast Tauntauns.

Tatooine: Dune Sea because I love the 3 way battle and anyone can have fun on this map. Vehicle people, infantrly combat people, snipers. Anyone! I also like the map design and CP placement. It really is a fun map.

Naboo: Plains because I like the map design and the infantry vs vehicle combat. The map gives you the feel of being in a large battle without actually being in a giant map. It has been one of my personal favorites since 2004.
There you have it! :D

Vote and post why you chose what you did!

For custom maps how do you create the SWBFI style minimap? Blue hologram feel. Like the stock maps.

I remeber seeing a tutorial for it but I couldn't find it. Could someone link it to me or post directions?

Quote from: starwars.comAt the end of Star Wars Celebration Europe's closing ceremonies this weekend, Lucasfilm officially announced the details of its next official convention: Star Wars Celebration VII will be held in Anaheim, California, from April 16-19, 2015. Timed with the release of Star Wars: Episode VII, this promises to be a Star Wars Celebration like no other.

Star Wars Celebration VII will be held in Anaheim, California

http://starwars.com/news/star-wars-celebration-vii-announced.html

That is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes from my house.

I CAN'T CONTAIN IT!!!! OH MY GOSH!!!! I've wanted to go to a celebration for a long time now!!!!!!!

Good things in 2015 for me:

1) Episode VII
2) Star Wars Rebels is airing and will be on its way to the season finale
3) Star Wars Celebration VII less than 2 hours away from my home
4) High School graduation
5) (possibly if not before) Battlefront Reboot
6) among other things I have yet to discover

Dear lord. I'm going to explode from my excitement!!

Yes! I'm actually going to make the tuturial now after putting if off.
Most of it will be copy pasting stuff from the SWBFI tutorial with a bit of editing but it will be complete. I will show how to install the game and get online to properly work and as a bonus I'll explain how to get Dark Times II and Marvel4's convo pack installed as well (optional of course).

This might not mean anything to you PC people but my SWBFI tutorial has over 2000 views and that's not from you PC people. ;)

Expect it by the middle of august. I will edit this post adding things in a spoiler until the tutorial is complete.

Thanks!

For those who want to try and figure out how to install and get online to work properly you can download the port, download wine and refer to my SWBFI port on how to get the port to work properly along with online. They work the same way.

SWBFII Mac Port: http://www.mediafire.com/?f48lw3nw29n7cvw

Wine:http://iweb.dl.sourceforge.net/project/darwine/wine/wine-1.5.30-148-gd29f6c4%20.dmg

SWBFI port tutorial: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=5450.0
Here is how to install and play Star Wars Battlefront 2 on MAC OSX 10.5.8 or higher.

This is what you will need.
1) Star Wars Battlefront 2 PC copy. DVD or CD version will do. You MUST have an actual copy for this port to work.

2) The Star Wars Battlefront II port which you can download here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/f48lw3nw29n7cvw/SWBF2_Mac_port.zip

And Wine which you can download here:

Step : Place Star Wars Battlefront 2 into your Mac.

Step :
a) Open up your Star Wars Battlefront 2 disk.

b) Browse the contents of your Star Wars Battlefront 2 disk to: your SWBFII disk/ Gamedata/ setupBF2.exe.

c) Launch "setupBF2.exe"

See the picture below for a visual example.

Step : Once you launch "setupBF2.exe" a window will pop up like this:

Click "GO"

Step :

a) Wine will start to run the .exe. A window will pop up prompting you to type in your CD-key found on your Star Wars Battlefront 2 case (or something equivalent). Make sure to type this in correctly.

b) It will then ask you if you want to do either Automatic or Custom installation. Choose automatic. Allow DirectX to be installed. Say NO when it asks if you want Gamespy installed. Say NO when it asks if you want Xfire installed.

c) Once the installation is done make sure to say NO to starting SWBF2 right now. Click "Finish." You may now quit the wine and X11. You may also throw the "Star Wars Battlefront.desktop" file away. (it will be located on your desktop)

Step : Navigate to: Finder/Wine Files/drive_c/Program Files/LucasArts

So the previous discussion to have a SWBFII server for this site was kind of a mickey mouse job.

I think that we should have a fresh start with SWBFII. Where no one here even knows that mod tools exist!

Really though, could we devote some resources to maybe 1 U.S. server with or without mod maps. Maybe a SWBFGamers.com CC map? Where it is just 1 map. Marvel4's CC map and people can join and have fun like the good ol' days?

No 1.0 or 1.3 stuff. Just plain 1.1 CC map only. What do you guys think? You want to be more SWBFII friendly but my attempts at SWBFII based topics go no where. Maybe if people have a familiar and fun map to join they will try out SWBFII? I really want to have fun with people over on the SWBFII servers and we should make a real effort to move the community to SWBFII.

Maybe take away one of the tunngle servers, just one, for the CC server?

EDIT: Oh this is all for SWBFII, I should have said that. :slap:

I recently tried the 4 Capital Down maps and boy are they the coolest maps on earth! Anyone who hasn't tried these must do it right now! They all use the same concept but they all play differently! They really are great.

Download the Capital Down Mappack 2.0 This mappack includes the newest versions of all 4 maps.

http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/file/Capital_Down_Mappack;73282  54.4 MB for 4 maps! Download to contribute and to have a blast ingame.

Now onto my favorite. The GCW one's are by far superior to the CW era maps.
It is really a hard decision but if I had to go for one I would choose Capital Down 3. And that is only by very little.

Even though the Star Destroyer looks amazing crashed into Tatooine, the Mon Calamari Cruiser crashed into the unnamed green planet looks better. The color is great and CD3 utilizes Air vehicles and tank vehicles along with speeders better than any of the other CD maps. The hangers on both sides of the crashed ship add more variety to the gameplay and my all time favorite part is getting into an Imperial Landing craft high in the sky, tracking a Rebel Speeder and firing 50 missles all at once. Seriously it is very funny!

So yea, try them out and post which CD map you like the best!

Requests / [REQUEST] Endor: Bunker PS2 lighting
July 18, 2013, 12:30:14 PM
The simple way to put it is, the PS2 version of Endor has much better lighting than the PC version.

Is it possible to get the PS2 Endor's lighting into the PC version of Endor? I don't mind if it isn't online compatible.

Could someone do this for me?

Public Square / New Board: SWBF console discussion?
July 17, 2013, 07:16:30 PM
So I was thinking about all of the SWBF console gamers and how on this site they don't have much to discuss. PS2/Xbox versions of the game are different enough to merit different discussions.
Would I be a good idea to great a SWBFI/SWBFII console discussion to attract a wider non-PC audience here? (Gamertag Towellie etc.)

Besides console versions of SWBF are fun in their own way without mods. :)

Hey guys. I'm here to tell you a wonderful mod for SWBFII. It is a small mod but changes something that really makes the game better. It is....

SleepKiller's SWBFI Interface for SWBFII!

It makes the boring and dull SWBFII interface into the happy and bright SWBFI interface we all love. (menu only)

Here are some pictures!

Here is the gametoast release thread: http://gametoast.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=26242

This was released almost a year ago and I got permission from SK to post about it here.

I really reccomend this small mod. It changes the menu into something awesome and best of all, it's from SWBFI!

But really it's a small download and it goes into just your addon folder. It's a nice change that doesn't involve new gamemodes etc.

Tech Support / Endor Map Shadows aren't full

I just had to tell you guys that combining SK's SWBF Unleashed era mod and Unit's 2nd Common.lvl creates a very fun experience for both the visual and gameplay aspects. It's a lot of fun (and I'm not exactly sure why). I tried both of those mods before and they are great, but together they create an awesome SWBF gaming experience.

Don't believe me? Try it yourself!

Here is Unit's 2nd Common.lvl ( http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=903 )

and don't feel like downloading a huge mod? Then just try it out with this addon map that includes the Unleashed sides.
http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=597

or play the entire mod here: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=483
Mac download: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=497
Now it might just be me but I think that combined the mods are a lot of fun! 8)

Very fun map, the pictures don't do it justice. Worth trying if you like attention to detail and an awesome, large battle experience. Even then you are never far from the fighting. Download now because it's that great.

README

A long time ago, in a galaxy far,
                                   far away...

                                   Star Wars

                        ORD MANTELL: No Greater Glory

                                  Cortosis!

A mineral vital to the manufacture of lightsaber resistant armor, it has been discovered on Ord Mantell, near a small hamlet hidden in the foothills of the wooded backcountry.  The Rebel Alliance, fearing that the rich vein may soon be discovered and exploited by the Empire, has begun mining operations to deprive them of its use, and to study ways of countering its light-resistant properties.
As Rebel engineers work feverishly in the mine -- their military escort scanning the fog-shrouded trees in the distance for telltale signs of Imperial presence -- the find has indeed been reported by Imperial spies, and Grand Admiral Thrawn has quickly dispatched two light divisions with armored support to Ord Mantell, to seize the mine and destroy any Rebel resistance encountered.  If successful, the Empire would seize control of a priceless resource in the war against the Rebellion.
It is early morning amidst the colorful landscape of early autumn, as instruments of war gather on the planet's surface beneath the pink cometary clouds of Ord Mantell's skies.   As the sun rises to burn away the morning mists, so begins the battle that may decide the fate of the galaxy...

Instructions:
Extract the "Rippen1" folder into your SWBF addon folder.  Make sure your music is turned on for the full experience.

Options:
Also playable in Clone War era.

Known issues:
1.  Some buildings in the town have a high collision mesh, so do not fly directly over them, or you will most likely be destroyed.  This problem is currently awaiting correction technology.  Once this takes place, the collision meshes will be altered and the problem resolved.
2. Currently, the map crashes when started in the dedicated server, and solutions are being researched.  It works fine, however, in a regular game-created server.

Here's a new series of threads I'm going to do called "If You Could Only Have 5" and it will ask a questions regarding only having 5 of something in SWBF.

This time it's Mod Maps!

If you could only have 5 Mod Maps ever again what would they be and why? (Tat3 doesn't count as a mod map)

Well I would have these 5 maps and here is why.

1) Coruscant: City
This map really captures the Episode II/III Coruscant upper city. I love the colors of the map and the layout. It feels like a Battlefront map as in it feels Star Wars. I especially like the recognizable features from the movie and the infantry based combat.

2) Coruscant: Streets
Just like City, Streets really captures the scene from episode II and puts in right into my SWBF game. I like the lighting and colors just like for City and the gameplay is amazing in both single and multiplayer. The map has a wide range of variety and lots of places to explore. Episode II is my personal favorite SW movie (because, in short the movie came out at a critical age in my childhood) and since this map is inspired by episode II I love it that much more.
Oh and I'll just add that if you watch the speeder chase in ep II you can see lots of the buildings Rends puts in his map in the movie!

3) Geonosis: Dust Plains (SK edition)
This map is probably my favorite SWBFII map and I love it even more in SWBFI. The level feels right and even though it doesn't come close to the amazing-ness of Spire it still feels like I'm put in the shoes of a Clone Trooper or SBD in the last reel of episode II. It has great vehicle and infantry based combat and is a blast with lots of AI. This map isn't the best in multiplayer but if you stick to singleplayer it can be quite fun! I espcially like the props and I think it fits well with the Geonosis look.

4) Abridon: City
This map is very fun offline. You really get the sense you're in a city fighting for control. The vehicles really make for some intense action but don't overpower the infantry combat. This map is fun for either trying very hard to win or just messing aroudn on a speeder bike. Unlike other city mod maps this one feels like a Star Wars city and authentic to the SWBF vanilla game (like it belongs). And it has an AT-AT you can walk through the city to blow up any rebel scum who dare oppose you! For Rends maps in general it shows that you can have an amazing map without edited playable sides.

5) Kamino: Cloning Facility (Sereja edition)
I don't play this map too often but when I do I have a blast. It is a wonderful improvment over the stock SWBFII Kamino (which I find boring) and the new props really make each platform not feel the same each time. You have something to look at while you walk from platform to platform. The Sereja edition also adds loads of new things which really improve the map. You get to use Slave I as a turrent which brings back major nostalgia from the Episode II movie. And no one would think of this but Sereja, but the AT-RT on this map just makes it for me! It is such an ingenious addition and it's very fun to pilot them. The sides just add to the fun in this map. It's probably not my all time favorite port by Sereja (Dagobah is my favorite) but Dagobah doesn't have as much variety of gameplay as my other 5 maps I chose do.

So yea! Here are the maps with links if you want to try them out! Just click on the map name.

1 and 2) Coruscant: City and Coruscant: Streets

3) Geonosis: Dust Plains (SK Edition)

4) Abridon: City

5) Kamino: Cloning Facility (Sereja Edition)

I was wondering if someone could make new mission.lvl's for Rends Bounty Hunter maps. I'm not too fond of the bounty hunter sides but I love the map designs. And if you could get CW and GCW era that would be wonderful!

For this map make the empire and rebels have the same skins as on Platforms: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=110

And for this map make the empire and rebels have the same skin as Yavin IV: http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/file/Bounty_Hunters_Rebel_Outpost;40392

Let me know if someone would like to do it! Or maybe give me steps on how to do it.
I'm pretty sure it's just a mission.lvl change right?

SWBF2 Modding / Every SWBFII LUA scipts uploaded
