So yeah it's out, go play it. If you're a mac user, regrettably Unit 33 has reported that the mod crashes on mac. A version supporting macs is not ruled out if the demand is there.

Also the CW era is normal SWBF style. (Capture CPs.) And GCW is Free For All. (Shoot anything that moves.)

NBAQ (Never Been Asked Questions) Well maybe a couple have been asked.


HELP! While loading the game freezes up. What is wrong? I don't know, please go into your Addon folder then into skmc2 and then finally into iofiles. In there you will find a file called log.txt. Please post the contents of it for me so I can help work out what the problem is with your game.

Where is the mini-map?! Good question, we don't know either. Actually truth be told the map is so small and I just couldn't be stuffed. You can find your way around with out one Mr.Co-Dependent.

When I submitted my class it was <INSERT DIFFERENCE HERE>, why did it get changed? Some stuff got buffed some stuff got nerfed. At the end of the day though we got a sorta balanced mod?

Why isn't my floor reflective? You need to have a graphics card capable of having water set to High for the reflective floor to be shown in all it's splendor.

Why do explosion effects sometimes not show? It's due to the reflective floor, I used a hackish method to add it after nothing else worked. (Meaning the floor actually goes is layers like this. Collision Level>Water Level>Floor Object.

Why does my lighting look bad compared to yours? Bump maps need to be switched on for the lighting to look at it's best.

Why does the loading screen sometimes stutter and take a bit longer than normal? It is the game randomly selecting your classes. While it usually does it in under a second sometimes it can take a bit longer.

The lighting is too dark, is there anything I can do to make it brighter? Yes actually see readme.txt in the map's addon folder for instructions on how to use the Mod Configuration File. It'll let you make the map brighter.

I saw a friend of mine playing with 100s of AI how can I do that? Once again see the readme.txt for instructions on how to set the AI count to be higher through the .mcf .

Does the flamethrower actually recharge? No, this is by design. The class is meant to be a long range fighter. The flamethrower is just in case someone gets up close. You should have enough fuel to kill one to two people.

I keep shooting people in FFA, why don't they die?! Put team kill on, all your problems will go away.

Will anymore classes be added in the future? Possibly yes and also no. I may release a patch once I am back from my break that will allow people to create their own expansion packs. But I won't be adding any more classes to it myself.

I attempted to rigorously test this, unfortunately that was soon abandoned as the mod is TOO FUN.

I'll make some points because I can't be bothered organising them into a cohesive paragraph:

.So, visually it's fantastic, the Screenshots don't quite do it justice, it's  much better to see it in motion, especially with those mad gun effects
.All classes are suitably OP, especially... well I'll let you find out
.You'll find that surviving FFA mode with 300 bots and 9999 is one of the hardest challenges in SWBF
.You have to ability to destroy other forum members in the ring of honour!
.Intense close quarters combat with bots, FUN!

This will be the first thing I play when I boot up SWBF today. I'll post my reaction. But seeing the screenshots and hearing Unit I don't think it will be readable. ;)

I don't think the whole entire back story of how the mod was made, who edited what, who edited that edit (I edited other peoples edits ALOT to get my work) is really needed, who in heaven's name is going to read that giant text file?

The effects are brilliant! The only two things that I thought were sort of over powered were me and Snake incarnated in an AI. lol

I thought you were going to use the Jetpack guy, but I think that would have made him way overpowered xD

I'm playing this now. It's a fun map, there's so much variety in the units and the map is well made. I like the ability to change the amounts of AI as well. The only minor problem is that some of the units are better than others but that's to be expected.

I think Sereja's got to be one of the most overpowered, it takes a lot to kill him.
Although I'd say even some of the less modified units still stand a good chance, for instance GunFlower basically uses the stock mortar launcher, and yet he is easily capable of taking down some of the heavily armed units.
Led's pretty OP too, what with the throwing mines.

It's more a few overpowered weapons/abilities than anything major. For example Sereja's high health makes him hard to be defeated, especially as he can fly which makes him harder to be hit and Leds rocket pistol is very accurate/quick. It's not necessarily a bad thing though as they can make the map more or less of a challenge for you. 
I've also played it a bit more since my last post and most of the units with stock weapons (or close to stock) are actually ok once you get the hang of them. Overall apart from a few weapons I would say it's a well balanced mod.

Honestly, I think my unit is waaaaay overpowered. When I submitted it, I actually thought mine would be one of the weaker units. :shrug:
I also thought Remnant's, RepCom's, and Led's unit were a little overpowered.

I personally found that the tirpider's tusken, the pink sniper chick (I forgot the name), and Gold Man's unit were underpowerered.

edit:  Did any of the units have 5 weapons? It'd be fun to play this online.

I thought the Tusken was underpowered at first but it makes up in close combat. :)

Haven't gotten to play as the Tusken yet, but I've swung that gaffi enough in my test worlds :P
You just can't get near a melee equipped unit and live. So I recommend being sneaky when playing Tusken.

It's fun exploring all the different units.

Only played through twice so far, but haven't seen any bugs yet.

I like the lighting and effects.

After another couple of rounds, I really really like the temple.
This is a well done small map.
Not too tight, not giant.
Everything makes sense where it is (if that makes sense).

Played several rounds today, and I love it! I thought my unit was pretty balanced, although I've had practice with that M16 on Snake's Desert Town map. :)

All the other units were between overpowered (like Pandora and SleepKiller), and underpowered (Tirpider and RC). Overall though I think this would make for a fun map to play in multiplayer! (As long as nobody uses Sereja's disguise kit).

The map itself was nice (liked the reflective floor). I thought I could climb the hill, though I see the ceiling limit is set to a minimal height. The temple area itself was fun, I could see alot of good fights happen in multiplayer through those hallways. As for the fiery blockade in the one section, it seemed a bit of a pain to me if an AI unit was on the other side of it, because I'd have to walk around to finally nab 'em.

I got a good kick out of all the messages and such (e.g., Gold Man WARNED SPAM BOT 675, Gold Man BECAME ONE WITH THE FORCE, etc.), also liked the touch with the AWESOME MEMBERS and COOL MEMBERS teams.

Overall, a very solid map indeed. The units are both underpowered and overpowered, but the mix seems to balance it out to some extent. And the map makes for a good battle arena (possibly even practice for hallway matches).

I'd rate this map a 9/10. To me it's missing some sort of charm to remember the map by (something like a logo or sort of image to remember it by).

I think some of the units had 5 weapons too, which isn't online compatible either.  :confused:

Me and SK tested it in MP, nothing crashed but I don't think we actively tried the disguise kit.

I'm pretty sure the disguise kit (like the grapple hook) crashes in multiplayer if you use the weapon really fast. So don't go turning it on and off a lot because I think that is what crashes it.

For example; I tried to spawn with my unit and spawned as Snakes. I eventually spawned with my unit by selecting SleepKillers. I'm not sure why this is happening, but it's kinda frustrating.  :wacko:

Your random side loadout is not the same as the servers random side loadout.  The server wins.

Finally downloading! Be back in a couple hours when I finish playing through 30+ times. :P


EDIT: That was very fun! The most fun I've had in a long time!

Here is a list of things I liked in this mod:

1) The customizable options! This is great and something every new SWBFI mod maps should have. It really lets you control your game experience and I love the option to turn up the lighting. I was playing this outside so I couldn't see much of anything but thanks to SK's magic I can play the map wherever I am. I really love the customizable features. A great new invention.

2) That death match mode was a lot of fun.

3) The effects! I really love the new effects. They look a lot better than the original game effects and I like them better than the last common.lvl mod you (SK) released. Is there a way I can get those effects as a global common.lvl? Would it work with your legion changer if I tried?
I really love the effects and I hope to see them more. Great job on that! :tu:


And of course
4) The sides. Those were some great sides to play as.
I could see the characters personalities through the weapons and skins those chose. My favorite classes were probably the "Kit Fisto" character (Unit and anyone who helped, you did a magnificent job in creating my class exactly how I envisioned it! He was a lot of fun and that reticule was something I wasn't expecting but it made him even better! Great job guys and Thanks! I would have never been able to do it.)
The Tirpider character was very cool also. I liked the skin and his weapons were simple yet effective. Very fun class. SK's class has some very cool new weapons like the Jawa grenade or whatever it's called. I loved how it was a droid head. It reminded me of Lego Star Wars (physical Legos) droid heads!

Every class was very fun to play as but those are the ones that I remember being extra fun. This is really an awesome mod and I give props to everyone involved.

Now get me those fancy effects! :P

After your break of course, you deserve it.  :cheers:

I'm not sure if this is a bug but I found that with the random classes you sometimes get the same class for both sides. But the loadout is different so did just the skin change? ??? The time I caught it I was double-teaming! :slap:

Okay to answer recurring questions.

The disguise kit works in MP. Well it doesn't crash at least. So that is something.
No class has five weapons, I don't know why you think one does.

Since a lot of the classes aren't mine it isn't really my call to make. As long as you require people to have the mod installed and call it like this. Then yes.

I said in rare situations that the same class may be drawn up twice for two teams. The system only guarantees all classes get a turn within two games. Much more and you start to get to a scary level of logical checks.

If you know how to make the server pass it's LUA variables to the client you're welcome to inform me how :P The fact that we can even have random classes in SP is amazing in SWBF1. Just look at it in the way I did, it adds an extra level of randomness to it. You never know who you are going to spawn as!

BTW guys after today I won't be answering any questions since in case you missed it, I am going off on a SWBF break. (Even though I will still be checking up on the forum, writing answers takes more time though.) Ask your questions soon or not at all.

They don't take any damage, though it is a minor bug I'd figure to point out.
What, don't you like getting a view of the light hanging from the ceiling up close? Na, this is a bug. I discovered it after I had already done the final munge and started uploading so it was too late to fix it. (If it had of been a major one I would have fixed it.)

It doesn't change gameplay. In fact it kind of reminds me of the SWBFII Jedi Temple mission where the Jedi fall from the ceiling and cut you to pieces. :D

And no rush on that common.lvl. No rush at all, I'm busy still playing your Geonosis: Dust Plains conversion over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over..............
