Hello all,
Due to the release of Star Wars The Force Awakens, I had the idea that we should have a new era for SWBF2. This has been bugging me now and I need to just get the idea out even though lots of others may have thought the same thing.
I just would LOVE to see a new First Order era in Star Wars Battlefront 2. Because hey, EA are too :censored: lazy to make a proper Star Wars Battlefront game.
Now the reason I say "era" is because pretty much everything on both teams need to change. Not sure about the weapons (except Kylo Ren's Lightsaber) but everything else needs remaking. New Tie-Fighters, X-Wings, Stormtroopers etc...
Also, it'd be good to be playing as Kylo Ren, Rey, old Han Solo and Finn on a game that's actually good rather than a game that's going to suck *cough EA *cough cough

Maps (Don't have to follow the story, duh)

Jakku:
Crashed Star Destroyer - A map where the First Order and Resistance begin battle with Rey leading the Resistance with Finn and Poe to battle the First Order led by Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma. The Resistance depend on their ability of their pilots while the First Order rely on their ability to wipe out as much of the ground units as possible. Because come on, let's admit it, the First Order are terrible pilots compared to the New Republic.
Battle Scale: Extreme - Hundreds of units fighting head to head with tons of vehicles. Possibly with a Star Destroyer in the sky (that can be accessible by both teams, First Order units may spawn there unlike units of the Resistance).
Hero Type: Health - No timer. This means AI and Human players may select the hero at ANY TIME and the only way of that hero dying is from being shot to death. Not dying of a heart attack from spending too much time in battle.

Village - A map where Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma deploy themselves alongside their best troops to wipe out the village in search of the map of Luke Skywalker's location. Little did they know BB-8 ran half-way across the desert with it. Now the resistance has caught up with Poe leading them along-side Finn. Once again, how could the Resistance not bring their beloved X-Wings?
Battle Scale: Normal - 64v64 with a few vehicles.
Hero Type: Both - Poe and Kylo Ren have a timer but Captain Phasma and Finn have no timer and can be selected by AI too.

Battle Scale: Large - 100v100 with lots of vehicles. NO STAR DESTROYER.

Jedi Temple - With some nut case compromising BB-8's location, Rey and Finn must fight alongside Han and Chewbacca. Not to fear! Despite the First Order's effort in deploying Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma into battle with the best of their ground and air forces, the Resistance have YET AGAIN got Rey and Finn's backs. What a surprise.
Battle Scale: Large - Large - 100v100 with lots of vehicles. NO STAR DESTROYER.
Hero Type: Both - Rey and Kylo Ren both have timers. Captain Phasma, Finn, Han Solo and Chewbacca must be selectable by both AI and Human players with NO TIMER.

I did indeedy - it's based on a slightly older version of my improved Imperial Stormtrooper. I also made Riot and Squad Commander variants, though I never got round to making a Phasma version (her armour is the same, just silver and with some extra lines on it)

As I work in SWBF and not SWBF2, I have never done capes, but capes should be possible.

Nice, glad you're willing to give it a go! I'd love to see this era in the game since EA aren't going to make a DLC (probably £50 too) that lives up to my expectations. However I'm sure anyone modding this into Star Wars Battlefront 2 could do a great job that either lives up to my expectations or beyond. This might even make people revisit the old battlefronts instead of just playing the new one all the time.

Turns out El_Fabricio has already done something similar. He's added a "Force Awakens" era but it looks like it's only on this one map called "Coruscant: Modern Warfare." I don't see any point stopping this mod since he still didn't get all of the units and heroes. Plus, surely you could integrate it into all of the base maps too? As well as this, I've suggested some maps featuring places from the movie so you could throw in those too.

It's outdated and not much different from the stock sides. Only the second teaser was out when that was made.
I'm gonna see if I can get some of the assets from it though.

In my opinion, the only assets worth getting is the pilot. The pilot seems incredibly accurate. However the First Order units barely look alike to what they are in the movie. The First Order Stormtrooper has already been made more accurately by Gistech so no need to worry an awful lot. X-Wings still look a bit off but they could do for early stages. If you can create one more accurate that'd be better yet.
But hey, that's just advice since I'm not the one who's modded SWBF2 before ;)

Any update on the assets? I think that those Tie Fighters would be good too. Not sure if you added that in the message though.

Made some slight progress today.
Currently using AQT's Milita Elite Model as a base for the Resistance Trooper, which matches pretty close, but needs a new helmet and the backpack and shoulder pads need removing.

Is it just me, or do the "eyes" on the visor of the Stormtrooper look grey? It kind of makes them stand out from the rest of the visor. Was it intended to be that way?

Since it's quite an old game I'd assume it'll be hard to make it perfect. But I think that if it's possible to change it to black without changing anything else on the helmet, that'd be brilliant.

Since it's quite an old game I'd assume it'll be hard to make it perfect. But I think that if it's possible to change it to black without changing anything else on the helmet, that'd be brilliant.

The officer looks good. I think they should be equipped with a Fusion Cutter, they look the type to be holding one.

Well, there's still Delta's version, and I also plan to include TFA skins in my skin changer mod. And later down the road a larger mod i'm working on will probably include stuff from Ep VII-IX as we plan to cover all eras.

You're right, there still Delta's mod for swbf 2...so I would say swbf 1 ::)
