I'm still learning as I go :) Assuming you can host It will be Mos Eisley and Cloud City for teams and individuals both will have cps but individuals will be no cp bleed. I'll update the rules for ticket count but im thinking 15 for singles and 250 for teams. Also if you want to change the thread title to SWBFgamers.com leaderboards please do. I didn't do it beacuse I wanted to check with you.

If you want to take part in the SWBF leaderboards please sign up below either as an individual or as a team of 4. Hopefully we can get a good number of players and have some good games. The rules are below.

Rules and outline:
The swbf leaderboards tournament will be split into two sections one for individuals and one for teams of four and will start on September 1st. Thanks to Led/Buckler it will be hosted by SWBFgamers.

Individuals:
The first 20 (I'm optimistic) people to join will be be given random numbers to order them in the scoreboard. If you want to move up in the rankings you need to challenge someone within 3 places of you(for example number 7 can challenge 6, 5 or 4). If you win you take their place and they move down one. New players have to start at the bottom and work up.

Every player is expected to accept 2 challenges a week but there is no maximum. Admins will oversee any matches where a player requests it but both players can agree to no admins before matches. If you want screenshots from the other player you can also arrange this before the match. There would be a time limit of 20 minutes per match for individuals (then first kill wins for ties). There will be no CP bleed (meaning reenforcements will only go down with kills but CPs can be captured. Ticket count will be 15-15.

Teams:
Teams must have 6 registered members and can change only one member a week. Time limit is 30 minutes per match. Other rules are the same as individuals except teams can only challenge within two places and there will be CP bleed. Ticket count will be 250-250.

Both:
The defender would choose the era and map from Cloud city and Mos Eisley with the condition that 2 people cannot play the same map twice in a row. The attacker would choose the team. Gameplay would be capturing cps but no special units for the sake of balance, there will be no AI.

Rules:
1.Screenshots must be taken of all scores.
2.No mods (minimap always on, transparency etc.) Only crosshairs and player skins are allowed.
3.No cussing/swearing
4.No wall hacking
5.Remember this just a game so be nice and play fairly with other players.
6.No challenging the same player more than 2 weeks in a row.
7.No special units (Jets, Wookie or Droideka)
8.No tanks
9.If an admin is requested for a match the match must start within 10 minutes of the proposed time. It will  then start regardless of how many players are present.
10.Matches are based on the position of the players before the match not the leaderboard. Example: If player 5 beats 4 he is then out of range of player 8 even if the leaderboard has not been updated yet. Its not as confusing as that sounds.
11. Challenges must be accepted within 6 days and played 2 days after that or you will be moved below the challenger.
12.Any arguments over matches must be posted the same day

Penalties for breaking these rules will normally take the form of a place drop.

SWBF 1 and 2 Tournaments / Re: A New Torunament!
August 10, 2012, 09:36:13 AM
It seems quite a few people want mod maps. I would rather keep the tournament accessible so that any one who can play swbf online can join and only have to post in this forum. Hopefully then they will visit this site and start to use mod maps but I wanted this to be a SWBF tournament not a mod map tournament. Without wanting to overcomplicate things maybe we could have a no mod mod map and admins/stricter rules for the top 10.

Sev: We need to find a way to talk in private if you really want to share ideas.
Edit: I've sent you a message on this site. You can send me one by clicking on my profile.

Can you make a server side mod for Mos Eisley, Cloud City and Rhen Var? Theres no hurry it's just when you have time. I would rather not have any downloads since it would be nice to encourage new players. If glitching becomes a problem we'll have to consider mod maps and I've still got to work out a system where we don't need 6 servers at once (3 maps for 1on1 and 3 for 4on4).

bleed can be disabled, so too can capturing cps
Can you disable bleed by using a command?

1.0, 1-on-1, with no CPs would be really unfair. Whoever has the Jet faction will win, since they can get to the CPs faster. Perhaps 1.1 with teams of two would work? It's not too many people, but just enough for you to strategize and use teamwork.

1-on-1 duels are a matter of who is the better player. 2-on-2 would let that stretch a little to see who can utilize their teammate to their advantage best.
IE: One CPs while the other protects CPs, or splitting up the map into two parts for each person to cover.

There will be no jets (or other special units). The one on one is designed to find the best player, even though theres cps there would be a low enough re-enforcement count that they woud only be useful for spawning. I need to look at ticket bleed on these maps though:) For teamwork there will be a 4 on 4 tournament with the same rules.

I don't know what the genearal thoughts are but to make this tournament different from others and to encourage players who don't normally play in this sort of thing I wanted standard 1.2 gameplay with no mods. I do think we need to remove special units and tanks though to keep things balanced.

I wasn't planning on special troops. I just forgot it in the rules :(. I agree about no tanks. To get the most players involved I want to avoid mods and addons (at least at the start). But like I said I would rather include as many peoples ideas as possible.

Thanks Sev. I'll edit the last post as suggestions come in. Thanks Led for hosting. Since thats the biggest problem sorted I'll try and finish the basics by the weekend then leave this topic for general conversation and start another one with the rules and leader board where matches can be arranged.

Plaese keep ideas coming in and post below if you want to join. Then hopefully in a couple of weeks we can be playing in this :)

General / Re: Which would you rather have?

Battlefront is a brilliant game which I will be playing for many more years but I only started because of the Star Wars connection. While I don't see the films as perfect anymore without them there would be no SWBF, Kotor, Jedi Knight games, Comics, hundreds of books, lego or millions of people having conversations like this :)
