^ That, or maybe you can remunge the sides with the mod tools.

When I try to munge new sides for SWBF1 the game crashes on some maps but not every map, but don't remember which ones. A re-install is probably the fastest way. A personal note - when I install either main game I zip a backup of _lvl_pc so it's not taking up huge space but I still have it if I need a certain file.

The bothan effect, I do not think actually does anything, it's just a little visual thing (the black/grey smoke on your body)

Now, how ever I was able to make powerups gives you the Leia health bubble.

Look at the file sides\all\odf\all_weap_inf_buff_invuln_ord.odf

and get these particular codes:

BuffDefenseTimer = "10"
BuffDefenseMult  = "0.05"
BuffHealthTimer = "10"
BuffHealthRate = "20"

And put them inside of any powerup odf file located in the common\odf section in your mod project folder.

You'll then munge and use the new ingame.lvl, and when you play with this new ingame.lvl and tag a powerup you will get the Leia bubble

Battlefront 2 powerups;

Red - damage increase
Green - damage reduction
Yellow - energy
Blue - health
Red/white box - ammo
dual pack (Red/whitebox+blue) - health + ammo

Red and green powerups last about 30 seconds, how ever you can get the same bonus by earning awards;
12 points while living 1 life, energy boost
24 points while living 1 life, damage reduction
36 points while living 1 life, damage increase

You lose the bonuses the next time you die.

Modding related, here is a list of some things I made possible when picking up canisters
1) attach a bothan powerup (health bubble)
2) attach a leia powerup (invincible bubble)
3) poison effect
4) bothan effect

Also you can put negative values, for example if blue health pack has -100 you will lose 100 health when you take it  :P

Greetings! and welcome to SWBF community. The other recommended site apart from this, is gametoast.com Between both sites, you'll have everything you could ever need combined.

Modding a PSP is actually very simple. I hacked my PSP in 5 minutes on my first try. We probably can't discuss that on open forum so PM me if want and I'll help you.

Not to toot my own horn but I've made some pretty impressive mods for SWBF2 on PSP. With the help of others of course, can't do it alone! We've converted about 5 maps from SWBF, added 2 or 3 custom maps originally made as PC mods, more game modes, lots of texture changes, etc.

Pressing T during game play displays your messages to everyone. Using Y displays a team only message, I might be wrong I didn't join swbf1 multiplayer in for ever, but that's how it works for swbf2.

Major, try this;

In the 3 letter mod folder (AOR?) open the addme.script in hex editor. Then find the bit of code near the top that looks like this:

sp_missionselect_listbox_contents

Then change the first letter to m so it looks like:

mp_missionselect_listbox_contents

That edit should present all available modes/era/map selections for the MP screen instead of the instant action single player menu. Now, with this edit the map will no longer be available in SP mode. But also, only the person who is hosting needs to do this. That edit is not required for people to who are joining. Keep in mind both users must have the mod addon though.  :tu:

No, I meant Zerted, creator of 1.3 unofficial patch, lost all his assets - the bits he had left were the scripts that fill in contents for Fake Console menu.

Fake Console sounds interesting, how did you unlock that? I think for PS2 BF1 it can be enabled by hex editing the common.lvl pausemenu script. I'll test this too since BF1 fake console crashes on the PC, but it might work for PS2.

Getting Fake Console on the PS2/PSP Platform wasn't easy and I can't begin to explain the entire process. I got some of the remaining 1.3 patch source files from [RDH]Zerted which helped a ton. (He lost most of them a long time ago but had bits left over) I also had to heavily modify the Fake Console scripts because the code was too big and seemed to crash or not load completely (mainly, removed ask user commands and empty line commands)
This is not the right thing to discuss since the forum is about bypassing DNAS. I'll PM you my files later and what to do with them.

Anyway, good luck with the MP stuff on SWBF2!  :)

Greetings, Phobos... it is very nice of you to find and share this! I don't want to sound greedy but do you think this is possible for Battlefront 2 on PS2?

I personally no longer have a PS2 console, or even a television for that matter.  :P

EDITS: Also, I am pretty slick with hex editing and understanding the console versions of Battlefront 2 (PS2/PSP)
And I have a friend who does modding/hacking on the actual PS2 console. We've tested custom mods like hero assault in all maps, more hunts, and we've gotten Fake Console added in PS2/PSP Battlefront 2 as well. Now my friend isn't registered on any of the modding community sites but I know I can get his help and report back with anything he/we can do. let us know if you need any help!  :tu:

MORE EDITS:
I looked at the location you've edited in the SWBF1 PS2 *.lvl file and I seemed to have found the same similar location in shell.lvl for SWBF2 PS2. Here is the screenshot below. If you could test your same DNAS bypass method and let us know that would be cool, as I don't have the juice to run PS2 emulator and my friend doesn't always have the time.

The script that seems to hold that bit of data appears to be ifs_mpps2_netconfig

Thanks for this, I wanted to skim through SWBF stuff to see if I can find anything to use in swbf2, and did not feel like downloading BFBuilder (cleaned my drive recently)

Guess I'm downloading it anyway...

I have basic knowledge in BFBuilder, thanks to different things on this site.

How ever I do not understand how to re-create the mission.lvl.

I saw tutorials, that wasn't very clear. I have ideas that might be good, that need a required mision lvl from the existing scripts.

I do use BF Builder Pro to remake my own sides, and edit existing worlds so I'm not completely in the dark. \

Any help here is magnificent.

Tutorials make any game channel above others and stand out.

-how to mod
-hot to play the game better
-game secrets, easter eggs (like how to kill the hero with an aircraft)
-how to install mods
-how to still play with openspsy, tunngle, and game ranger or other tunneling systems (how to set them up)

I'm sure there's more I can't think of.

I don't know what I host file is. It may be something only with swbf1. I don't yet have enough people to test swbf2 pc with on openspy, maybe 3 or 4 max, The game itself lets me reach 64.
