Hear me out, I'm only asking this question because the information was left out from your post, but you have installed the requirements to play on the new master server, correct? The new .EXE that replaces the old one?
You probably have, but I just wanted to make sure we are on that page. The new master server doesn't automatically carry over to all base-games.
It was a silly question, but this info is useful...

I just found two brand new in box 24" monitors in a pile of stuff I completely forgot about!

I can send you my mailing address and 20$ for one of those. Sound good? :P

Your laptop needs to support Thunderbolt 3 in order to hook up one of the external enclosures recently announced/made. Other methods out there to my knowledge typically choke the card for bandwidth.

I see. Looked at the Wikipedia and did a bit of research on those, even though I already knew my laptop doesn't have one of those ports. I thought about an adapter, but that would be nonsense as it just diminishes what Thunderbolt is.

Thanks anyways, Sleepkiller and Sam Russell! I'm in no hurry to get external graphics, but I appreciate the help. ;)

most laptops have dumbed down, low watt CPUs that would more than likely bottleneck your new GPU

Good point. I know I've got a good one in my laptop (but know nothing about Wattage), and really the only low-end piece of hardware is the integrated graphics. I know its possible to make the BIOS ignore the integrated card, but I just need an external one to swap to.

Hello all,

I've been doing some searching, and learned about something called External Graphics Cards. The idea of this teases me, because it sounds so awesome, but the only search results I get on this are from 2013 or older. Nothing recent, and all the talk back then is either about Prototypes or people being disappointed to find out that no such thing exists, at least when they posted.

Has anyone heard anything about External Graphics Cards in the last couple of years? I know there are definitely prototypes floating around, but does anybody know of anything Good that your "Average Joe" can buy?

the best option is always gonna be building your own, which can be learnt pretty quick with the magic of the internet

agreed. I wouldv'e built a laptop from scratch, but I've got little patience for it...

Just don't get an Alienware end of. It's a suicide mission

Does this also include the Steam machines?
I'm not sure because I have heard several good things about them. And they are Alienware, so relevant.

Requests / Re: How to add loading screen to map.
May 25, 2016, 05:52:40 AM
Do you mean the video of the world map that zooms down onto a small area while the map is loading?

Correct me if I'm wrong, Pro-Modders, but that loading screen is just a video, something you have to do yourself.

On the other hand, you may or may not be able to recycle a loading video from another Geonosis map, but I have no knowledge of that matter.

Don't think I'll ever upgrade my console, though, I can't justify blowing $60-70 on console games when I can get said games for cheap on Steam. :P

I understand. Personally, I might upgrade simply because of College, in where I can have a system that easily does local multiplayer, for Me, roommate, and some friends, and it's also a system that people will be familiar with. If I can upgrade to the PS4 from the lowest end PS3 that I have, for no more than $200, I think it's something for Me to consider.
The Gamecube is great! I'm actually trying to sell mine right now for a bit more college money. I don't expect to get a lot from it, but every little bit helps...

Ah, seems I'm not the only one who's accessorized their laptop for gaming use. :P What's the specs for your monitor with the mount, or is it 1366x768 like you said? My current TV is 1360x768, though my previous model (which I really liked because it could convert composite connection from my GameCube using the component inputs) was also 1366x768. :P

The monitor is an HP S2031 which is 1600x900 and 60hz refresh rate, and the mount is here: http://www.amazon.com/Halter-Articulating-Single-Monitor-Mount/dp/B00K2C3KMG/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1464125493&sr=1-2&keywords=halter+articulating+single+arm
I have temporarily removed the laptop tray, which I originally used for the Intuos tablet.

Both the PS3 and laptop run with the monitor at 1600x900 and 60hz. That PS3 may be upgraded to a PS4 this fall, but I'm not too sure yet. :P

I have a workable setup that I really need a new desk for, but thankfully one will be included in my college dorm...

Laptop specs as follows:

HP Envy 15 Laptop
-Windows 10 Home 64
-6th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ Processor Quad-Core + Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 (Integrated Graphics)
-15.6-inch diagonal HD WLED-backlit Display (1366x768)
-8GB DDR3L - 1 DIMM (RAM)
-1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
-3-cell 55.5WHr Lithium-ion Battery
-Backlit Keyboard
-HP TrueVision HD Webcam with Dual Digital Microphone, Fingerprint Reader
-802.11b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth(R) [1x1]
-Bang & Olufsen with 4 speakers and 1 subwoofer (Audio)

The Integrated Graphics card drags this laptop down when it comes to gaming, but it is still a great laptop for a college student. I purchased the laptop for a little over 500$ during Black Friday last year, and since then the full price has dropped to nearly the same level. :'(
I don't own a Desktop PC anymore. I used to, but this laptop really was a big step up in specs.

The Playstation 3 and the laptop are both connected to the portable speakers on top of the desk. The PS3 and Laptop also share an HDMI switcher with signal priority set to the PS3, simply because it is used less often.

Interesting, I'm glad someone's forged a path for competitive, since DICE seem to be actively trying to not support it.

There was a mode in Battlefield Hardline that was very similar to either CS:GO's Defuse or Hostage Rescue mode. 5v5 mode, seemed like Dice was going to capitalize on it but I think that's when resources really shifted towards Battlefront...
