General / Re: Steam Chat Logging
April 16, 2019, 06:22:19 PM
So I'm going to post an update to this, and the download page for the Logger, but it appears since Steam's newest Friends layout update, you can no longer log your messages. I did a small amount of digging but I didn't find anything to replicate this software with the current versions of Steam.

I'll leave the download up since it seems to be the one of the last places to get this tool anymore.

The real question is, are they actually planning that far ahead, even if they know they're gonna get a ton of backlash for a horrible first game?
I just pre-ordered the game and can't wait to join in the Beta tomorrow. It was my reserves about the outcome of the first installment that kept me from making the purchase until now, but I can personally tell I've got nothing to worry about with the new Battlefront II.
See you on the front!
EDIT: I've decided to go back on my original decision, and thus I've cancelled my pre-order of Battlefront II. If I decide to get it at some point, I will eagerly await playing it with you.

Unless you have to configure your Share button settings a certain way, I know I can just press the Share button once and it will take a screenshot. If I hold the button down, only then will it open the Share menu.

I also hope that units will eventually have aesthetic customisation, but we'll see (I expect they will).

If you pre-order the Deluxe edition, there are "Exclusive Star Wars: The Last Jedi outfits for Kylo Ren and Rey", so it sounds like there will be cosmetic items within the game, in some fashion.

Very pleased with the way the game is going so far. But I thought this was the Closed Beta currently, the Open Beta doesn't start until October 6th... https://www.ea.com/games/starwars/battlefront/battlefront-2/events/beta

Mirky and I have been chatting on Discord. We were both eager to see the singleplayer mode and I think I can speak for both of us that we're pleased with it so far.

I would like to remind everyone that the DELUXE edition is no more promising than the standard edition of the game, and will only get you 3-Day early access to the Full Release and a few more customization options. Just preorder the Standard and you'll get all of the same game a few days later with almost the same amount of customization. That will save you at least $20.00 USD.

Do I really present myself as that much of an unreliable person to yall?

No need to ask him. He's essentially abandoned his assets that he uploaded here, done so by his actions.
This is the map I'm talking about. I wonder if you'll be able to figure anything out from it.

EDIT: I realize I gave credit of the map to Phobos. He doesn't deserve all that credit. You can find the true credits in affect in the description of the mod.

I remember that Shazam once created a Zombie map in which the AI would map to different paths. Destructable walls were put up on the paths and when the zombies would stand at the wall for long enough, the walls would break and the zombies could enter.

Edit: Shazam created the map, proper credit was given in this edit.

I'm betting there would be too much of a dispute over who owns the assets to the original game at this point.

3.2 GB patch? That's the reinstallation of the entire game basically. Which is why people are backing up custom files and etc.

Sorry, I edited my Response. Check upward and here...

I think there's also a problem with you having a Space in the executable name. It's supposed to be "BattlefrontII.exe", no space between the word and the number. Caps shouldn't make a difference.

Binkw32.dll should also work with or without Caps. Make sure the file type is actually a .dll and change the name back to just "binkw32". You can click on Properties to check the filetype. If it's not a .dll, right click on it and Open in Notepad. Then click Save As and when the save tab pops up, click on "All Files" then change the name to "binkw32.dll". That will change the file type.

Did this, just like this. Tell me if it seems like I'm wrong. But I get this error message when I run it from my desktop: "The code execution cannot proceed because binkw32.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." So, I reinstalled entire game. Reproduced the exact same error. This is what I was trying to convey to the best of my non-technical ability.    Not trying to be obnoxious.

Well, I see the "missing" file there but named with caps. Try to spell it just like it says, without caps.

See if that works

I really didn't want to leave a message, but I'm not getting this solved on my own, so here goes: I bought the game (BF2) on Steam and am trying to become one with the Force, I mean trying to play multiplayer. Going through the instructions here, getting the client to run as admin from within the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common place, I'm still not sure what to do. When I run the game from Steam, it still wants me to connect to Gamespy. I'm still not able to play multiplayer.

First thing first, did you download the new .exe for your game and use it to replace the old .exe?
