Weapons: Heavy laser cannon, concussion grenade launcher (launches powerful concussion grenades at high speeds and long distances)


2. Campaign Test on the venator map (the local rebels on team 3 won't spawn for some reason)


3. A Rocket launcher fail on Rhen Var, Where I fired a rocket that targeted the RM-09 ship, went through the open doors, looped back and hit me instead.

@Tirpider, you can find the TIE Defender I used in the ConversionPack Vehicle assets, model's called "Bandu_fly_Tiedefender.msh" (I guess Bandu made it?)

UPDATE!!!!

So I had an idiot moment when I accidentally deleted my republic side folder (I was trying to delete unused files and clicked the wrong thing.

As a result, I've restarted the clone sides from scratch, and it works much better. I spent all night testing yesterday and there are really no bugs so far

Sides are much more lightweight (filesize is 60MB instead of 200  :P). The random clone legion script I developed works very well. It is almost perfectly balanced with the CIS, and the player models are much less memory-heavy (Almost all-stock)
Units
--Clone Trooper: DC-15A Blaster Rifle x500, DC-15s Blaster Pistol, Thermal Detonator x4 (chargeable), Knife Attack
A basic infantry unit. The rifle can take out most enemies in 2-3 shots. The grenades have a small kill radius but a large damage radius. The knife works best as an ambush weapon (sneak up on a unwary droid and stab)

--Heavy Trooper: DC-15s Blaster Carbine, PLX-1 Missile Launcher x7, Haywire Detonator x4
A very effective demolitions unit. THe Rocket has a double zoom scope so you can pretty much snipe slow moving vehicles/unwary units across the battlefield. THe Carbine is basically a lower-powered version of the DC-15a. The Haywire Grenades will fry the circuits in vehicles and droids, disabling the vehicles (and forcing people out of them) and killing the droids

-Clone Pilot: DC-15x Arc Caster x30, DC-15s Blaster Pistol, Fusion Cutter, Health/Ammo
The Arc caster is very powerful, and fully automatic. Best used at a short range, the electric bolts will travel from one droid to the other.

Clone Sniper: EM-5 Repeating Sniper Rifle x500, DC-15s Blaster Pistol, Thermal Detonator x3, Recon Droid x1
Clone Scout (the camo'd scout): EM-5 Repeating Sniper Rifle x500, DC-15s Blaster Pistol, Thermal Detonator x2, Tripwire Mines x2

The Sniper rifle is a fully automatic, fast firing, one-hit kill rifle. Its drawbacks include the kickstrength which makes accurate aiming and rapid-firing difficult, and the bullets are not as fast as the droid sniper rifle's. In large barrages, the bullets do moderate damage to vehicles. The Tripwire is a deadly weapon. When placed on even ground, its nearly invisible but its explosion force is enough to wipe out everything in a wide radius,

Jet Trooper: WESTAR M-5 Blaster Rifle x300, M-5 Under-barrel Grenade Clip x5, EMP Grenade x3, Time Bomb x1
The Westar M5 Rifle is a very powerful rifle that fires deadly shots in bursts. The grenade clip can be charged to shoot a far-flung projectile grenade that has devastating results when it detonates. The EMP grenade, disables vehicles and blows up droids. The Time Bomb can be placed anywhere. On a vehicle, on a building, on a tree. on the ground. It will allow you 10 seconds to run away as fast as possible ingame before going out with a bang.

Clone Commanders: All with a DC-15A rifle, DC-15s Pistol, EMP grenades, and Orbital Strikes.

Are you going to add new animations? Or you are going to use the 1.5 era mod's animations?
Or you are going to keep the old animations (the ones that SWBF 1 has)?

No thats just the result of the random clone legion script, on random, it'll display the clones/stormtroopers as the 91st Recon Corps (red circles), 212th Attack Battalion (orange stripes), 327th Star Corps(gold-ish stripes) 9th Legion (212th in lime green), or red Shocktroopers

There are also some Clone legions assigned to specific maps


Kashyyyk, Yavin IV (my custom one), Dathomir (GCW): 41st Elite (jungle)
Mustafar, Nar Shadda, Venator (GCW): Shocktroopers
Rhen Var, Mygeeto, Hoth: Galactic Marines/Imperial Snowtroopers

Wow! That's cool! Good selection of clone/empire legions. For the galactic marines did you use ggtucks model so that they have skirts/kamas?
I'd like to see screenies of the 212th legion skins cause I really like that legion... :whistle:

I don't want to use those models. If it were BF2, it'd make more sense to use skirts/kamas since cloth works there. I may give some clone commander heroes capes, though, like darthvader capes, since those are just animated addon models that work well. However, I'll be using ggctuk's Imperial Clone Commanders.

I'm back from the Chamber Music festival!

Bad News: I seriously hate to let people down  :td: but I just CANNOT get this campaign to work anymore. a week of frustration trying to make things work during the weeklong break I had, and the few days since I've been back home have yielded absolutely no results. Some maps won't even work. Sounds are missing, custom sound lvls won't munge, heroes won't show up, units don't work, etc. All sorts of crippling problems. So for now, I'm scrapping the custom campaigns, but keeping a backup in case I return to work on them.

In lieu of that I'm going to my backup option for changing up the campaign, which is to keep the stock campaign storyline, but with all new maps, and a few edited shipped maps, using the mod sides as opposed to stock. I already have Yavin IV and Geonosis maps in development

Aggressive Negotiations: Takes place on Alaris Prime instead of Kashyyyk. CIS and Trandoshans vs. Wookiees and some Jedi
Battle of Geonosis: Gogo12's custom Geonosis Spires mod.
"Boarded". replacing Kamino mission, Using the Venator map. Right as CLones are departing from Kamino after small tangle with droids, several CIS ships intercept the Venator and land inside. Its an intense hangar battle.
Mountaintop Defenses: Use custom Rhen Var
Battle of Kashyyyk: Use edited, shipped Kashyyyk

Campaign Part 2
Desert Extermination: custom Dune Sea-esque map, Except it's just Empire vs. Tuskens
Siege of Mos Eisley: Custom Mos Eisley map

That's a Rebel Vanguard, using a recolored version of Culvar's Halo UNSC Marine for SWBF.

1. Its my own venator maps, two different maps actually, one that covers the whole venator, and one campaign-specific one that consists of a single large hangar.

2. I'll put up screens of the map. It's a map he put together for me when he was working on the mod with me (as official mapmaker). He's since decided to do his own projects (after making a good deal of maps) and I've since taught myself to learn how to map. Its really just spires, extended a bit with new Cps, more Techno-union ships, Lucrehulk ships in their giant pits like in AOtC, more vehicles. I"m working on adding some more new things.

Venator Map: Credits to EvileJedi for the Enormous Venator model that makes up the map.

In my last edit of the map, I did the following
-Edited sky/lighting (so now the Venator is floating in space near a moon
-Added more destructable CP's
-Made it so Galen Marek can actually spawn in his single hangar.


What I'm doing now:
Separating the wld file into 3 layers in Zero edit, to test Sleepkiller's thing about loading separate layers.
Layers:
[Base]: Contains Venator object
CW: Contains Venator, Underbelly Hangar Spawnpoint for Clones, and CIS Spawnpoints (4 Sheathipede Shuttles, 2 static MAFs)
GCW: Contains Venator, Underbelly hangar Spawnpoint for Galen Marek, Spawnpoints in other hangar, and top section for miltia/rebels, Gunship vehiclespawn for militia/rebels, Sentinel-Class Shuttle cps for Empire.

Update: 41st Legion on Kashyyyk. Ican't decide if I like the skin or not. Also, I enabled specular for the clone models, working on the stormtroopers and some militia/rebels. Also might do it for some props and vehicles.



A New unit on Jabba's Palace striking down a stormtrooper.

While I'm trying to fix the revisions to the sides, here's a preview of some new clones that make an appearance on Rhen Var and Mygeeto: The Galactic Marines. They have slightly different weapons (just minor differences) than the normal clones, and a slightly faster walking speed.

The Trooper

Also, I've changed a few weapons

Sniper Rifles. [spoiler]Before, they were all one hit kill, and fully automatic.
Now:
Republic and Empire: EM-5 and EM-5b Sniper Rifles: 7 rounds per clip, mobility is limited when zooming in. Charge rifle up to increase damage, velocity, and range of lasers. Charge to 100% to shoot a beam or high-powered sniper laser that can take down flying vehicles.

Rebels: X-45 Sniper Rifle: 10 rounds per clip, You can move while zoomed in, instant kill, minimal damage to vehicles

CIS: E-5 Sniper Rifle: Basically a Blaster Rifle with a scope. Bullets travel twice faster, do about 25% more damage (headshot=1 hit kill), and a volley of shots can do serious damage to a vehicle.[/spoiler]

MiniUpdate:

I removed vehicles that were redundant/unecessary

-BF1 MAF (I have the droid gunship from BF2 instead)
-Bellabub Fighter (grievous' starfighter). Removed from instant action, saved for campaign mode
-Imperial AAT (I didn't like it).
-Imperial LAAT Gunship.

I completely wiped and re-wrote the odfs for the TIE starfighters:
TIE Fighter, TIE Defender, TIE Bomber, TIE Viper, TIE Interceptor.

I also removed some unecessary units That weren't very well-put together.

What is FTP?
File Transfer Protocol, it is used to upload files to the web and in some cases download them. (And not in the way you are thinking of right now kit. And no you are still wrong. Still wrong. Stop trying to guess what it is and just look it up.) We use it for uploading files above 64MB around here.

Battlefront 1.5 is the first attempt at an actual era mod for SWBF1. Based on a combination of two simple scripts, new game modes and eras can be added for new sides, while retaining stock sides and stock maps, and bypassing the addon map limit. It introduces worlds ported from SWBF2, community made worlds, and new modes, using new units, new vehicles, new heroes, and upgraded visuals

Installation Instructions
Before doing any of this, make sure you have the 1.2 Patch installed for SWBF

Extract the folders Data and AddOn. copy this into the destination box: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\star Wars Battlefront\GameData (or wherever your GameData folder exists)
Say yes to replace and/or overwrite for all items


optional if you don't want stock sides in maps included in mod (like bf2 conversions, and community made maps
remove the following folders from AddOn if you have them
myg1, kashunt, nab4, fel1, mus1, uta1, MCW (another Mygeeto conversion), FF1 (another Felucia conversion), chainisle, RSN, BEQ

IMPORTANT: AFTER INSTALLING, I AM ABSOLUTLEY SERIOUS, YOU MUST READ THE DOCUMENTS IN THE NEWLY CREATED FOLDER "DOCUMENTATION", ALTHOUGH, THE ONE ABOUT ANIMATION YOU CAN CHOOSE TO SKI

For those looking to install it on a mac, I'll put up a zip archive with the folders for manual install.

Utapau and Mygeeto occasionally have buggy collision issues.

Bespin Platforms in CW mod era: Visual effects tend to short out and dissapear after a while. I have no idea as to why this is the case
the visual patch, i've tested to be multiplayer compatible.

If you use free camera after shooting the rocket and move to where the rocket is you can get a detailed look at it. Try it and you'll see what I mean.  ;)

Bad news: I can't useT1-B and Firehawke tanks  that I've used in my mod up to this point. Unfortunately, the guy who uploaded them "Warlord28" apparently stole them from another mod for another game. I don't want to use stolen content.

Instead I'll use my last resort for this:

The BF2 Hovertank for the Rebels
Tank Health: Average
Weapon Strength: strong
Seats: 2, Pilot and gunner
speed: It's a slowpoke  :P

Pilot weapons: Dual ion laser Cannons, dual anti-personnel Chainguns
Gunner weapons: Missile Turret (16 Rockets)

and a modification of the stock IFT-T model by Icemember.
It's basically an IFT-T with the side guns taken out. Instead there is one nosetip cannon and a bubble turret encasing what used to be the gunner turret. The pilot can activate a large shield while in battle as the weapons aren't as strong as that of the rebel tank.

Vehicle Health: average
Shield Health: average. Immune to infantry weapons (except explosives and disintegration rifles). can withstand a few rockets before going down and having to recharge
Weapon Strength: average
Speed: Fast

Seats: 4, Pilot, Gunner, 2 Passengers,
Pilot Weapons: Medium Laser Cannon, Shield Generator
Gunner Weapons: Heavy Laser Cannon (chargeable)

Back-on-topic:

Updates:
I Got it so that the mod only runs from two folders (trying to make it run on one)
1. Addon folder with essential addme script
2. WLD folder in Data\_LVL_pc\ containing world, side, and sound lvls.


Also, after a brief struggle (2 hours), I got new sounds working  :cheer:

Some BF2 fighter and weapon sounds
-Trifighter, Droid Gunship, Imperial Shuttle, A-wing, Grievousfighter (used for kwing), ARC-170, Jedi Interceptor, and a new Droidfighter sound. The ARC-170 and Droid Gunships are a bit buggy though.

Weapon Sounds:
A new sound for the E-11 Rifle,
DC-17M ICWS and Sonic Detonator weapon sounds (courtesy of Majin Revan and Qdin),
A New sound for the Clone DC-15s and DC-17 Pistols
A New sound for the Droid Shotgun, Droid Sniperrifle, and Stormtrooper Shotgun
A New Zap sound for the Arc Caster. It literally sounds like  a bug zapper.

Other news:
-Added specular to Jet Trooper and Clone Sniper
-Replaced Sentinel Class Imperial Shuttle (the cut one from BF1) with that much sleeker and cooler-looking Theta-Class Shuttle (The Landing Craft from BF2).

The white arrow is a spawnpoint for a geonosian fighter and That's also a spawnpoint for geonosians and the Count. Other than that, the platforms just a prop.

YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think there is a way to reduce filesize of sides by taking out the unecessary stuff for that specific map...

1. I've decided to give each side a "Monster" unit. ie. A really big/tall guy with higher health (700-800) instead of the default 300), and bigger weapons

The Empire has the Darktrooper
The CIS Has the Assault Droid as its "monster". Armed with a Concussion Missile Launcher, A Droid Rifle (so small for the guy that he just wields it like a pistol), and 3 Concussion Grenades

I really like the 212th Jet Trooper! Raxus Prime looks like a super fun map.
Btw, I talked to gogo12 and he said he will release the Nar Shaddaa map when he gets around to it. ( I also asked him to release Raxus Prime :P )

Clone Spy: DC-15s Sidearm Blaster, DC-17M Sniper Rifle (20 shots), Disguise Kit, Tripwire Mines (4)

Assassin Droid: Bulldog RLR (24 projectiles), E-5s Sniper Rifle (200 rounds), Recon Droid (2, armed with a Heavy Blaster and a self-destruct that explodes in a huge radius), Poison Grenade

Storm Commando: DC-19 Stealth Carbine (12 shots), Q4 Repeating Pistol, Probe Droid (2, armed with a trishot blaster and a shield generator), Fragmentation Grenade x3

Hahaha nope. Not at all. I still need to finish what maps I started and start what maps I have planned out and plan out what maps I have ideas for. I need to test the sides and scripts afterwards and then check everything for bugs multiple times, have people beta test it, fix what issues the beta-testers found, create a readme/credits list and theeeeeeeeeeen it can be released
