Title: clone turbo tank
Post by: Jon415 on October 06, 2009, 08:30:34 PM
Hey, just wondering if anyone out there could make a mod with playable clone turbo tanks
That would be AWSOME there so huge with lots of weapons...
so would anyone be willing to make a side mod like that?

What is a "clone turbo tank", and is it in SWBFII?

its those huge tanks that are on the battle of Kashyyyk. you see a bit of them on coruscant and during the battle of kashyyyk.
theres a link for some good pics

Oh, a Juggernaut?

Those have been made before. I think there's a map for SWBF1 that has one on SWBFFiles. Let me see if I can find it for you.

EDIT: http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/file/Kashyyyk_Kachircho;47790

Seem to recall that having one. I could be wrong, though (I often am).

Nah I'm 98% sure that map doesn't have a juggernaut

that would be cool. i could put the mesh if it is found, in place of a rolling vehicle and you would have it in a skin that can be used online in multiplayer with out crash. keep me posted k. in reference to Jon415 the types of weapons i would add to the tank would not be any different than the weapons on the shipped rolling vehicle already in the game we choose. i would keep everything the same so that the game wouldn't crash when in multiplayer. my only obstical would be the geometry scale. for example, remember yoda and how he was scaled taller. the tank might change shape once i put it in the side lvl we choose choose. it is worth a try once the vehicle mesh is found. i plan to buy an external hard drive encloser for a extra hard drive i put inside my modded desktop at home. in that hard drive i plan to put all of the mesh files that i will be working with.

what types of weapons would you be able to add to the tank?

Anything within the limitations of SWBF...

There's pretty much nothing that a Turbo Tank has that's out of SWBF's limitations.

The main problem would be how to get the wheels rolling.

Does that really matter?
Your Snail tank's treads don't budge, yet that doesn't stop
it from being an awesome vehicle !

So does the Hail-fire tank !
Bah, minor details do not ruin a whole vehicle.

I think the most difficult would be that it would require re-assembling the static model (which is in several parts), and also acquiring Dragonum's permission - it's on GameToast in the Assets section, I think it's "Kashyyyk World Assets"

it would be nice on the juggeraught could go pretty fast-there supposed to be able to go 180kph, but that mught be  little high...
the speed of the sand skiff would do

In terms of the weapons--it would be nice to have some differend ones than that of any of the shipped vehicles even if that meqans no miltiplayer.

if it is not playable in multiplayer it might be used then discarded to a folder in your desktop. even the best mod map sometimes sits in the desktop like so.

i found the topic when i searched the word ventrilo
i would recomend reading alot of topics in mpcgamers and gametoast. get registered with gametoast to search the brown forum for old and new topics you learn about. soon you will understand so much that you will want to get started modding. but wait that is the time to find some one to help you along the way. mic is the best way to get help.

i found the rep prop juggernaut files, Model Created by Dragonum. if and when i make a sides selection i will try to add this prop insead of a regular vehicle. i hope it just glides along the ground.

that would be kool-i dont really care if the wheels dont turn that would probly be pretty hard to do

like i said, if it is easy and if it works. and if i ever start modding the troops like i want. i might make a decision about swbf1 and 2 game all together. i am still learning how to juggle everything.
Title: Re: clone turbo tank
Post by: Jon415 on October 31, 2009, 08:00:08 AM
how would the weapons be done?
Title: Re: clone turbo tank
Post by: Xfire Keenmike aka cull on October 31, 2009, 04:21:28 PM
instead of bf1 vehicles i would try this juggernaut, so the weapons would be the same as the regular vehicle. i would do this so that it can be a model i can see while playing with others in a shipped map. the whole idea stems from not enought players able to install a mod map let alone hope they can all get together in a mod map at the same time. with this mod playable in multiplayer one can step into any shipped map with the vehicle and see it.

sounds pretty kool-but i would also like to se a singleplayer version with modded weapons to make it more realistic
since the juggernaut would be taller that any other vehicle in the game, the weapon shots would not come from the actual weapons on the juggernaut but from where they would on the stock vehicle -so it it would appear that the shouts would just come out of some random place on the vehicle.

ok thats a little confusing but i hope it makes sense to you

how do you know these facts?

i played a mod by shadow which reskinned the aat to look like a snail droid.  he modded the promary weapons to come fron where they should, but left the turret of the aat on the snail droid. the turret was not visible from the outside but you could piulot it and when you fired the shots would come from nowhere out the front of the snail droid. Also the barrels of the guns are nothing but part of the skin(i think) and the shots will still originate from the same location no matter what.

the mod by shadow is available in the mod section of swbffiles, i dont have the exact name with me cuz im still at school, ill get it to you as soon as possible.  I think it was something like Shadow's Clone and Droid Mod 1.3

i will experience with different fire points, i think that is the name.
Title: Re: clone turbo tank

that would probly help the juggernaut's fire look more realistic

modding is funny, i may decide the mods i dream of are important to swbf1 or i may have so much fun playing stock maps with stock troops that i might not mod.
