i am not familiar with xfire.
When you play in swbf1 servers you make friends. You can just hope that you meet them by chance or make agreed times to play together. To stay in better contact with those friends xfire is a pc program that lets know when friends are online and in turn they know when you log online into the xfire program. I like xfire but play in swbf1 servers with who ever is online in the server at those times.

Cool to hear that. I play SWBF1 on pc and join PLA Cloud City public servers when I can. Do you have xfire to communicate with gamer firends?
Achuta to you too.

Giving a trooper a green costume would be a skin mod; one way to do that is covered in this tutorial:
http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=3762.0

(This method does not use XSI, but it is rather crude because the image is 2-D that gets wrapped around the 3-D character.)

I like that you called it crude, but you bring in me questions.

Can a mesh model have textue colors on its own with out a tga file?
Is it possible to have a mesh model with its own color from hp light or some other way?
And would any of these ideas work better with static models vs trooper?

The best we can do is perhaps to make a 'chat forum' where you can post about pretty much anything.  But keep in mind too, that we only have about 50 people per week that visit here, and about 10-15 that visit every day or two.

Good idea since while at work I can't get online like I use to.

My newest version of my side by side bike concept. When the time comes testers will be needed to test the lean from side to side feature. The bikes I bought and fixed side by side using pvc parts is close to being sold as is. The pvc concept of a side by side bike is to be scraped. Metal is the new material I plan on working with. Welding I will learn soon.

Led, what do you mean by fly-by practice? So far every thing else that you have described is enough information to go on I think. You would rather have the practice for dark troopers? The jets?

Glad to see you can make a server side cloud city map for us with the easiest method. Zombie Hotel Developer, will you be able to make it soon?
Bamdur has a scalled down troop already. Maybe that troop model can be moved up to head height and be the server side troop file. Will you be able to do this for us bamdur?

you can hexedit anything on a mac, provided theres a hexeditor program for the mac.

odf, lua, and req files can be opened on a mac in textedit (the default word processor),

tga files can be edited in Photoshop for mac and GIMP for mac, and

option files (.option) for msh and tga files can be edited in textedit to. but there doesn't seem to be that much to edit with them

To edit the items below you would have to know the above and SWBF1 viewer to view the models aka objects you are working with.

for worlds. lyr files (world layer files) and wld files (the world's base layer) can be opened in textedit and edited.

You have a cool idea. Many possiblities to get this working. Online compitable is the best method. What if each troop is a mesh so small that the body is the size of the troops head (server side troop mod). Raise the troop so that he is walking on a axis plane level to the head of a regular troop (server side troop mod). And when you shoot the body of regular troop you get no kill (regular game side troop files). If you hit the head then that is a kill (server side troop mod registers kill). And if the ai is told to be standing still with no nodes to go to then that is a stationary target (server side mod map). And if the for example droid death chunks explode then that can be a cool blowed up target practic (game side troop mod or regular troop files).

At the least only two online compatible mods would have to be made.
Online compatible server side stock game mod map city like Cloud city. No or fewer nodes for troops to path to.
Online compatible server side troop mod. Troops are small and at a higher walking level head height.
