I believe that this is often due to video card issues.  Try turning your video options up or down, and see of that helps.

Released Maps and Mods / Re: Pistols Only by Led
February 17, 2011, 06:49:48 PM
This file should be located here: C:Program FilesLucasArtsStar Wars BattlefrontGameDataAddOnpis02

Basic side and mission script mod made by "{PLA} Led".

This mod uses the stock map Bespin Cloud City.
Each side has only one unit.  The weapons have been changed to pistols only,
concussion grenades, and health/ammo packs.

The purpose of this mod is to help players practice using the pistol.

Released on 2/6/2011.

You know, I think maybe we need some practice for this thing.  I will put Hoth up early on Friday Night if anyone wants to try some tactics :)

This is a server side mod made by hex editing the PC dedicated server software.  I believe it
will work if hosting a MAC or PC *dedicated* server--meaning the host can't play using this map.

Hex edit mod made by "{PLA} Led".

This file should be located here: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront PC Server\data\_LVL_PC\BES
or the equivalent for Windows 7.

IMPORTANT:  In this directory, you will see a file called bes2.lvl.
Rename this file to bes2.original.lvl
Take the file bes2.final.lvl copy it to bes2.lvl

Bespin Cloud City has been modded to make the CPs normally given to CIS/EMP changed with those
normally given to CLONE/REBS.

Released on 2/17/2011.

Bespin Cloud City has been modded to make all of the CPs non-capturable.
Since the CPs are always even, there will be no ticket drain.

Requests / Re: Modded server

Here is all about how to make CPs non-capturable:

There are not a lot of modders left, so I expect that it would be difficult to get someone to make a mod for you these days.  I would suggest first asking Bamdur if he would share his mod, then learning about modding on your own.

General / IPv6 and SWBF--any thoughts?
February 15, 2011, 04:46:41 AM
The internet is swithing to a new address protocal called IPv6.

Overview:

Details:

Does anyone have any ideas on how this might affect SWBF, if at all?

For PC servers that go through Gamespy, the answer is that you must not have your server be sitting being a router/firewall.  The NAT translation does not work.

This was not always this way, but a change last year in the way Gamespy does things messed it up.

Read this thread I posted long ago on the gamespy "support" forum:
http://forums.gamespy.com/action_gaming/b50683/20209837/p1/?14

So, if you don't want your server to ping at 9999, then don't use a firewall or router.  Unfortunately, this is not practical in most situations.

I've done mission mods, some hex edit mods, and some side mods.

My last mod was a pistols only mod.
