Xbox One Controller on the PC?

Hi, I was wondering if there's a way to play SWBF1 with an Xbox One controller on a PC? The game sort of recognizes the controller when I try to program the button layout but it seems to glitch out and I can't get the game to allow me to fully integrate the controller.

Is it possible? Can I program the controller with SWBF1 outside of the game's settings (like manipulate the install folder)?

idk if this will help but if the game is the problem and the controller is fine with your pc use the program called JoytoKey.
