I think then that I have static, since I have to do that every time. Plus, my desktop's tower is in a difficult place, since its basically a cupboard with a hole in the corner to run wires through, so removing and replacing the ethernet cable is a pain. I also do share it with my dad, so anytime he would want to get on, I would have to unplug the cable from my xBox. and yes, i do need to restart the modem every time. so given that, would i need a switch or a router?

Well alright so I was able to get it hooked up...but now my question becomes router-based. i only have a modem so if I connect my xBox to the internet, my computer won't have the connection. Routers are supposed to make it possible for both devices to share that signal, right? And if so, how much would a router go for?

Well I got a 360 Elite for Christmas (thank you santa!!! :3) but it will not connect to Live. I don't have a wireless connection for it to work off of, but I've tried rigging all types of wired connections to it as I know how. The only internet connection comes to the modem on top of the computer tower. It travels through an ethernet cord into the tower of the comp. That's a pretty straightforward connection. But no matter how I try, i can't hook up anything to the xBox to cary over the connection, whether the computer is involved or not...

any help?

1.3 isn't worth the update. the community, shrinking as it is, is all on 1.2. i tried 1.3, but wasn't very impressed with it. your game should be ready to go and play with the best PCers around.

Well it's unfortunate, but I have a maybe 5% chance of actually attending this. My computer's fan decided to give out this last week, so SWBF cannot run effectively. I will be taking in my computer tomorrow or Saturday, (ONCE MORE) and thus I will have to regrettably miss the rebirth of the Platform Wars.
